Please tell me/us what all these government bureaucrat "experts" have gotten right from the jump on this thing.

Mask or don't mask? Nursing home or no nursing home? Jab mandate or no jab mandate? Poor little kids or no poor little kids? Natural immunity or no natural immunity? 3 feet? 6 feet? 25 feet?

This thing is decidedly no joke, we all know people that have died from this.

The joke is the response from our self proclaimed "experts" that likely are less useful than your great Aunt Matilda that could serve up some elixer that would fix things.

In Gubment We Trust 04-rock

This unfortunately is problem that everyone has with the whole situation - well said JMU Dunk!

It all comes of as "let's throw this sh*t against the wall and see if it sticks". Everyone has spoke to Covid in absolutes - "I will stop this", "2 weeks to slow the spread"..... etc It is a big science experiment.

Speaking in absolutes is great when it works, it undermines trust when it doesn't and in simplest terms IT HASN'T.

Everything they say contradicts everything they have said. Masks don't work , but wear your mask. Get this VAX but you can still spread the virus and get infected anyways.... on and on.....

Now [suddenly] the CDC is saying what most were already thinking and knew for a long time now - getting the virus is the same or better than getting vaxed and masks don't really work....

And ironically, about 40 minutes after I made that post guess who calls me on her way home from work thinking she might have caught the 'Rona?

Home rapid test and YUP! The lovely and talented Mrs.Dunk tests positive.

so, then it's a flurry of checking websites, making phone calls, canceling weekend plans with friends and family and whatever else.

She still has smell and taste, no real persistent cough and no fever so who knows. The test instructions say she has it, she'll see someone tomorrow A.M.

Guessing I'll be sick here soon enough.
Those home rapid tests have a default of positive.

My unvaxxed young adult kids have both been positive for 2 weeks visiting with us with no symptoms. We must be superhuman because we still feel groovy.

I have no faith in those tests. My "step-daughter" came home two weeks ago to stay with us after she tested positive from one of those home tests. She never had a fever, hardly had a cough. The only thing she accomplished was trashing out her old bedroom upstairs in a weeks time.

So in essence why do we need a test kid to tell us we feel lousy and might have it. You don't get tested when you feel you have a cold or even the flu. If those tests are unreliable your guess is as good as anything.

I hope your wife gets well soon. By our new standards she should be safe from regetting it from now on. Even the news tells us that now...amazing.

Those poor kids! Why are we using kids to test for a virus now???

Makes perfect sense to me. I've got 4 from 1-8 here. They're my test kids. If one of them gets sick I figure the rest of us will be in short order. 03-lmfao

Same, I got two in 1st and 2nd. If we tested every time one of those little disease factories came home with a sniffle we'd be bankrupt buying tests
