RIP, Ron Franklin
Ron Franklin has passed away at the age of 79.

https://www.on3.com/news/former-espn-spo...asketball/

He was the voice of the University of Texas for several years, but was better known to most of us as the voice of ESPN Saturday night college football as it exploded in popularity. In the 90's, if Ron Franklin, Mike Gottfried, and Adrian Karsten were in your stadium on a Saturday night, it was a big deal.

Also teamed up with Fran Fraschilla for Big 12 hoops on Big Monday.

RIP.

Adrian Karsten was a great sideline reporter. He committed suicide at the age of 45 after being convicted for failing to pay taxes on three years of his ESPN salary.

He was a very good announcer. He was also a long time sports anchor in Houston. Looked it up--from 1971-1987 on Channel 11 and Channel 2. That's what I most remember him from. He did UT basketball in the 80s.
