RE: WBB vs Delaware 1/18/22
So you don't think Jasmine Dickey is that good? Clearly she's not up to EDD, but she's still on the watchlist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major POY. Kiki has been dropped from that list. Make of that what you will. (I don't think Dickey will get it, but I could be wrong. I think it's probably between Dyaishia Fair from Buffalo and some girl from BYU, which I hardly consider a mid-major, but there it is.) And I think there's plenty of room for Hazell and Jefferson. Jefferson plays kind of a combo G/F anyway.

Turnovers, no offensive flow other than 1 on 1, poor shooting all around…just a few of our many problems. Our quality of players is also significantly down this year. I think Kiki, Jamia, and Peyton are all solid recruits and players, but the rest of the team just isn’t to the level of player KB had coming into JMU. O2P, no one here had a problem losing to UD when EDD was there, she’s one of the best players to ever play college basketball and alongside her had many transfers come in to UD…and guess what…we still beat them. Along with Drexel, we’re used to seeing battles with these teams. Being outrecuited, outplayed, and outcoached by the likes of Towson and others is unacceptable.

Correction. Prahalis-Holmes came in the previous year. And she is responsible for the guard coaching, just as Ian Caskill is responsible for the post coaching (which has improved dramatically). ACs have individual responsibilities and the HC pulls it together, but if the AC doesn't pull their weight then things don't come together properly. I didn't like Sammy as a player and don't like her as a coach. She needs to go.

We are getting quality recruits. They aren't getting properly developed by some of the coaches.

If you didn’t like Sammy as a player at Ohio State, you’re a buffoon. Big Ten POTY averaging 20ppg and finishing as the Big Ten’s career assists leader. That certainly doesn’t necessarily translate to effective player development as a coach, but that’s a seriously bad take from the Queen of bad JMU WBB takes, OtoP.

Would love to hear about how her play at Ohio State wasn’t up to the OtoP standard.

She was a selfish player and was basically allowed to do what she wanted. Same as Diamond DeShields at Tennessee. DeShields was/is a little better all-round player though.

Nothing says selfish like career ASSISTS leader. Your perspective is extremely warped.

How many times did you watch her play? Assists be damned.

I root for JMU WBB. What's an assist?

Rumor has it involves passing the ball, but that's purely speculative.

No use arguing with you people, you don't get it. She may have been a good player, but good players do NOT necessarily make good coaches. Bench players often do, if they are paying attention on the bench.

I agree that good players don’t always make good coaches. But only a fool would argue that Sammy wasn’t an outstanding player.

Didn't say she wasn't good. Said she was selfish. But it was Kevin McGuff who let her be. And that's all I have to say on the subject. I'm outtahere.
