FGCU Softball didn't qualify for the ASUN tournament but upset #10 Florida yesterday!

The ASUN Tournament starts Tuesday. The seeds are:

1. Liberty
2. Central Arkansas
3. North Florida
4. North Alabama
5. Jacksonville State
6. Kennesaw State
7. Stetson
8. Lipscomb

Congrats to Liberty for winning their 2nd ASUN Softball title today. A dominant season by the Flames.

I'm very, very proud of UNA's softball team. They finished with 38 wins and a victory over Jax State in the conference tourney. Played Liberty closer than any other team this week, also.

Liberty matches up with Georgia in the WCWS! They are in the Durham Regional at Duke.

Also, the season continues for North Alabama and Central Arkansas! Both have been invited to the National Invitational Softball Tournament in Ft. Collins, Colorado. UCA is the 4-seed and UNA is the 6-seed among the field of 12.

UNA opens up on the first day of play against 11-seed Tarleton State.
UCA awaits the winner of George Washington/Kansas for a Day 2 matchup.

Liberty beat ranked Georgia yesterday but fell to the host Duke today. The Flames play an elimination game later tonight or tomorrow according to the ending time of the UGA/UMBC game.

UNA won a home run contest today 7-6 over Tarleton. Yeah, that was just the homers. UNA thankfully prevailed in runs as with with the 18-15 win out in Colorado. The tournament was pushed back a day after a big snow storm.

The Lions play UNLV tomorrow. UCA will play Kansas tomorrow.

Liberty lost to UGA late last night to end their season.

Both UCA and UNA advance as two of four teams left in the winner’s bracket of the NISC. Both will have a day off before games on Tuesday. The Sugar Bears will play Virginia and the Lions will face Baylor.

Both UNA and UCA fall to UNLV today in the National Invitational Softball Championship. The title game is tomorrow between UNLV and Baylor.

Liberty is headed to the Gainesville regional as an At Large bid. They play Oklahoma.
