The Tigers Haven’t put a fun product out there since we hired Pastner.

Pastner ? Is that the guy that took us to MULTIPLE tournaments---our LAST TOURNAMENTS---after taking over a depleted roster---after taking over a program with looming sanctions---won a global championship--and took Ga. Tech to the trny last season---that Pastner ?

Pastner took over a Ferrari & left us a f’n Yugo.

He took over a depleted roster and a program with looming sanctions. If it was considered a Ferrari -why did 84 coaches turn down the job after X/JUDAS/FREDO/BENEDICT left ? I guess we have different opinions of cars

BS
Scott Drew would have taken the gig but Memphis media and RC fukked it up.

Not me I got better things to do with my time.. The NBA and the NFL won’t ever get my time nor my money nor someone else paying me to go..?

I understand, but I just paid for a new roof and new windows so…. What kind of money are we talking about?

I don’t remember Pearl’s situation then. We had options albeit small but deciding to hire an inexperienced coach to lead a big time program (especially after Cal’s reign) without as much as an interview process was baffling to me then and over time it unfortunately was proven to be a terrible decision. It sat the program back and has been on a slow downward trend to nothingness. I fear we may never truly bounce back to being a big time program again.

I have season tickets in club level for the Tigers. My parents do for the Grizzlies in the same section. We pay the same amount, and they get 20+ more games of world class basketball.

Food for thought.

A better bang for your buck.
The Tigers’ dedicated fan base skews older. Hopefully the program gets turnaround soon otherwise in another decade, the program maybe on life support as far as attendance.

Don’t you know college athletics is pure? Everyone gets an equal opportunity to win big unlike the pros. The pros don’t know how to level the playing field and needs to learn from college athletics 03-wink

I’ve never been a NBA or NFL fan. But, with Fanduel and Draft Kings now available, I watch a ton. Being able to have a real interest in a random Wednesday during the dead of winter is probably bringing more people to the NBA than anything else they could have ever dreamed up.

The Tigers are just facing a lot of headwinds in the near and short term.

Scott Drew would have taken the gig but Memphis media and RC fukked it up.

Scott Drew wanted the job… RC listened to Lapides & balked. Leonard Hamilton would have taken it too. The post-Cal job search was a train wreck… followed by RC’s Larry Porter hire.

As for what Josh inherited… the 2010 squad was not depleted. Wesley Witherspoon, Willie Kemp, Will Coleman, Robert Sallie, Donneal Mack were good enough to compete in CUSA; and the status of the program allowed him to bring in a top 5 class the following year. How many top 5 classes has he managed at Georgia Tech? The fan base was still filling up Fed Ex Forum & excitement in the program very high. Josh did not need to rebuild this program but simply maintain it; which he did not do. By the time he left, donations were down, attendance was in the crapper & recruiting had fallen off so much Josh had to make desperate package deals to get local kids to stay. Josh killed the program & Tubby simply buried it.

The guy that’s barely above .500 since leaving, and is coaching at the bottom of his conference and probably getting fired at the end of the year.

Yeah that guy.
