This 2022 schedule looks even more daunting. We better rest up now. But I do like not having to travel out west after the long break.

Yeah, I didn't like the timing of this CC series.

I can live with a split of NoDak next weekend. Don't want to drop one to CC because of rust.

RE: WMU Hockey Announces Schedule Changes -
Very disappointing. I was really looking forward to watching this weekend on NCHC.TV.

Last month, positive testing numbers were in the teens most places.....now in the 30% range and higher in some areas. I've got my fingers crossed we don't see too many more cancellations because we'll soon reach the point where games will not be able to be rescheduled making the selection process even more complicated.

RE: WMU Hockey Announces Schedule Changes -
Does anyone know why we are still testing young, healthy, triple vaccinated athletes?

Latest California study on a sample of over 50,000 Omicron infected, ZERO were put on ventilators and only 1 death.

Call Team USA U18, schedule a Saturday exhibition game, as they have it open....

Use this exhibition game to knock off the rust and get ready for next weekend

Sounds like the vaccine & booster are really effective at saving lives. Compelling case for all Americans to get vaccinated.

Also a compelling case to stop testing young healthy athletes and move on to normalcy.

It is also mild for the unvaccinated which is great news.

I agree with your first sentence regarding young healthy athletes who are vaccinated. I disagree with your second sentence. Access to vaccines + boosters is still an issue around the world. It's not an issue in America. Every American can easily walk into their local CVS & get a vaccine + booster in about 20 mins at no cost. I guess that's too much of a commitment for some.

Jan 12 (Reuters) - The highly infectious Omicron coronavirus variant causes less severe disease than the Delta strain but it remains a "dangerous virus", particularly for those who are unvaccinated, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a news briefing, director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said more than 90 countries were yet to meet the target of vaccinating 40% of their populations and more than 85% of people in Africa were yet to receive a single dose.

"We mustn't allow this virus a free ride or wave the white flag, especially when so many people around the globe remain unvaccinated," he said.

He said the majority of people hospitalized around the world with COVID-19 were unvaccinated and that if transmission was not curtailed there was greater risk of another variant emerging that could be even more transmissible, and more deadly, than Omicron.

Or it could mutate to an even less lethal form like viruses usually do and most scientists readily agree will happen.

Hopefully, that's true.

I mean that is not necessarily true. Virus mutation can be more deadly or less deadly, it can also be more or less transmissible. The one good thing that usually happens is the more transmissible it becomes usually the less deadly it becomes.
