RE: Women's basketball
They need to have a team meeting without Coaches being and hash it out. They need to name a team captain and that person needs to take charge.

RE: Women's basketball
After the way today's debacle started it's a minor miracle we only lost by seven.
Buffalo looks to once again be a contender for the MAC title.
We once again look like on the right night we could beat anybody... It's just that we never have those nights.

I'm with you.
This was supposed to be the team that contended for a MAC title.
I won't give up hope as they are still a team that has the talent to beat any team on any given night. But sheesh, after blowing Saturday's game against Kent State it is hard to believe we'll see this team make a magical run in Cleveland.

RE: Women's basketball
Without looking up the remaining schedule and standings, I'd guess EMU WBB will not make CLE (remember the tourney is top 8, not everyone).
Not making the top 8 and the tourney is a tough pill to swallow. I'm wondering if Castro is feeling the heat.
Two of the top 3 players, Combs and Rainey, are seniors...
And a P.S. for Super: EMU WBB is 'transfer U'. The top 3 scorers are all transfers. https://emueagles.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster

Duh! I know and just look at their record. Soccer isn't, baseball isn't, swimming isn't. Most if not all sports aren't. Try again. it wasn't that way when Suzy was here.

It is actually worse in conference.

Some coaches can coach. Other coaches can recruit. Hard to find ones that are great at both. Castro can recruit but I question whether he can coach. As Carl pointed out all the pieces appear on paper but on the court its a hot mess. CC on the other hand isn't perhaps the greatest of recruiters but he can develop and coach up the talent he has. He reminds of Bill Mallory the old IU football coach who ranked at the bottom of B10 recruiting but still had some success at Indiana.

Yep. Seems both EMU MBB and WBB will miss the tourney (only 8 teams make it) this year.
The shame for WBB was, and probably most casual fans don't remember the 2019-20 MAC WBB tourney.
I remember emailing the broadcast indicating hoping we advance to the semis, which we did by beating Ball State (#2 ranked team) and then it struck. Teams were sent home, etc. etc... Season over. Tourney dreams dashed.
BTW, the EMU MBB team was eliminated that Monday in the first round so their season had ended by losing their game.

Oh I remember that well... we had everything clicking. BUT it was a similar season in that we were completely underwhelming during the regular season, limped our way to a .500 finish in MAC play, and turned it on against NIU and Ball State in the tournament.
I don't think its a coincidence we've seen so much coaching staff turnover + players leaving the program.
BTW, Jenna Annecchiarico is averaging 16 points and 6 assists at College of Charleston... Not sure I ever heard the story why she left but it would certainly be nice to have her on this team.

And it was Chad's last EMU game behind the mike. I remember him reading my comment that hope we advance to the semis.
Surreal.

We let a true point guard leave for players who were to play a great inside game. Now we don't have a true point guard/ slash floor general.

These transfers were also supposed to great scorers/shooters. Anyone have any idea when that's going to happen? They catch the ball stand there until the defense moves towards them or ethshoot or take a step towards the basket then shoot. They also never catch an shoot.

RE: Women's basketball
Another bad show. One player, Skanes, was a big producer. Combs and Pineda had some production. The rest were basically MIA.
I watched a good bit on it. Miserable 3-point shooting.
They have maybe a 0.1% chance of making the tourney. They'd have to win say 6 of their 7 remaining games and several teams above them would need to lose say 6 of 7. Very, very slim chance of that happening.

Story of this team, unfortunately. I want to know what their practices are like... It seems like most of these players have regressed over the course of the year.
I know statistically there is a chance they make it, but I have absolutely no confidence in this team even going .500 the rest of the way.
Best case:
Ohio - L
Miami - W
CMU - W
NIU - L
Toledo - L
WMU - W
BSU - L

They usually play a strong fourth quarter but not good enough to over the deficit.

Might make my way to the Ice House tonight. Leave work early, stop down in Depot Town for a bite to eat...
I really want to see this team win and tonight should be one of the better opportunities.
