Just finished watching ND/Rutgers and man, I'm reminded around this time every year how badly I want NIU to make the dance some day. Feels like it would take a miracle but let's go Burno.

I see Yazid Powell entered the transfer portal. Weird you can sign a letter of intent, never set foot on campus then enter the portal? Me thinks he suddenly got a bigger school offer.

I'm not 100% sure we have spots to offer. I've never figured out the math but we had 7 guys coming in and 4 departing.

the math works when you understand a few more than 4 are leaving

Okay. So we can add Powell to the list (he can also be subtracted from the other list).

So we have 6 coming in and 5 leaving.

If Osten is gone (I think he is, that evens the numbers.

But it doesn't mean we can just add another guy to replace Powell. It means yet another player, who hasn't entered the portal, is leaving.

Who might that be? There aren't a lot of obvious names to pick. Personally, it wouldn't have surprised me to see Thornton go to Ball State but that's not happening now.
