New Bracketology
The new Bracketology has us as a play-in 12 seed against 12 seed Wake Forrest and if we win we get a date with a #5 seed Kensucky. I'll take it!

Wouldn't that be a hoot! Win lose or draw as long as we play them tight, I'll take it! But it goes without saying that a win over Calsucky would be very sweet.

12 x 4 + 2 = 50
Is that what we are? Barely top 50? C'mon! We slipped up and we're not top 10, ok. But being the caboose of 50? Really?

I'm certainly no Pastner apologist but it is so telling how our program expectations have eroded. Under Pastner we complained about a bad tourney seeding while having every expectation we would get invited annually. Contrast that with the narrative today where most are just hoping we get an invite. Ironic.......

Honestly don't think anyone is happy with how this season has turned out so far. At the beginning of the season I think the expectations were a preferred seed. Right now that is unrealistic outside of running the table.
Outside of the people rooting for Penny to fail.

Losses to UGA, Tulane, OM & Murray St at home will do that......

Very true. At least with the Wiseman year we didn't officially miss the tourney AND he could blame it partially on the loss of Wiseman. This year though...man the expectations and reality have, at least so far, been a real kick in the nads. Playing better though so there's hope we can make it in.

OK. I'll play. Who's better?
Team A: losses to UGA, Tulane, Mississippi and Murray St
Team B: losses to Iona, Davidson, Missouri and Team A
Team A or Team B?

RE: New Bracketology
If we get in, we won’t be a 12 seed. The committee wouldn’t do that to a 5 seed. The lowest I could see is seeded (if we make it in) is a 10 seed.

RE: New Bracketology
Theoretically what do you guys think this team ceiling is with seeding...
Win 'em all...
What is the best seed this team can get?
If Houston only loses to us I say a 3 seed...
If Houston falls apart due to their injuries I would say a 5-6 seed

As far as seeding ceilings go that seems reasonable. 3 is probably on the very high end but it could happen if we win out and Houston's only future losses are to us.

5 more potential quad 1 games. Currently we are 3-1 but Wichita State is a little iffy at 71. Last year we were 0-4.

By my definition (which means very little) Team A beat Team B head-to-head, so Team A is the better team.
That said, Team B also beat Gonzaga, Houston, and Tennessee so they do have a few nice wins, too.

At least one of those doesn't survive...Unless they all beat us.

(sigh, we've been thru this a hundred times)...
You have to provide context to where the program was when each new coach took over.
Pastner trended \
We still have hope Penny is trending /
It's like saying:
Fuente missed a bowl his first 2 years. Silverfield made a bowl his first 2 years. Weird that some still think Fuente is a better coach than Silverfield.
