CFP National Championship Game: #1 Alabama vs #3 Georgia
The two best teams meet in B1G country to determine the FBS National Champion for 2021.

Can Nick Saban win back to back titles and an astonishing 8th overall national championship?

Can Kirby Smart finally break through against his mentor and grab the brass ring for Georgia? What would be their first national title in 41 years?

Kickoff is at 8 PM Eastern tonight!

Bump.

Seems like there’s not much excitement for this one. I’m hoping for a good ratings night so the SEC and ESPN see dollar signs, but I’m not optimistic

it is amazing the 4 rematches have not been remotely close. avg MOV of 24.5 with no game closer than 21 points.

I think that what has dampened excitement *right now* is that astonishing and exciting finish we had with the NFL regular season yesterday. That IMO has sucked oxygen out of the room.

As it should. CFB is nothing but a joke anymore in all honesty. Why watch NFL-lite when you can get the real thing instead? The P5 have been a minor league D-League for the NFL way more than these teams have EVER been part of their respective universities. I choose not to watch anymore CFB.

It's been 135 days since the first FBS games of the 2021 season were played, on August 28, 2021.

After tonight, it will be 228 days until the first games of the 2022 season are played, on August 27, 2022.

The CFB season is so short. I think that's one reason we love it so much.

You may be right, I know I always hate to see the national championship game end thinking about what a long time it is until August.

Gut feel one side or the other will dominate tonight. Don't see it being a barnburner.

If that wasn't a fumble it had to be intentional grounding. He threw it straight to the ground. It wasn't like his trajectory got changed.

I was thinking the same thing. It’s the correct call that it isn’t a fumble, but how could it not be intentional grounding.

Fix is in for Bama. Alabama player knocks down the UGA player doing a fair catch, no harm, no foul. UGA player gets within Covid contagion distance to Bama player without touching him, 15 yard penalty.

Alabama kind of dominated 1st quarter but won't show on the scoreboard. huge pass play there.

Feels like two low quality NFL teams playing a competitive match. In fact, that’s exactly what it is sans the names and jerseys.

It's shaping up to be what I expected, a defensive slobber knocker. One bad omen for Georgia is that Kirby had a sports psychologist speak to the team about overcoming previous defeats. I couldn't help but laugh remembering Hobbs in the natural walking out on that monotone weeble of a psychologist saying, "Losing is a disease!" Bad look Kirby!

Agree. Stetson is playing scared.

D is fired up though.
