Jayden Hardaway
I just felt the kid deserves some props with his own thread.

He has improved so much and is becoming a key contributor on this team. He hits big shots and makes really smart plays in multiple phases of the game.

There were times last year I wondered should he even be on the court, those days are LONG gone.

He really gives the team a boost when he comes in and is beginning to look like one of the smarter and craftier players on the team.

In line to eat some crow…

Jayden has earned his minutes and proven to be a very smart basketball player. He clearly worked incredibly hard this off-season to improve his shooting and his physique. It has paid off. Like the announcers said, he makes plays that win games. He does a lot of small things and seems to know how to be in the right place at the right time.

He's a very mature player and isn't getting rattled. it's obvious he worked very hard in the off season too.

Agree. Gets to spots on the floor on offense where he has practiced the shot thousands of times. Very smart player. His work rate has improved from his freshman season to Senior season too, especially on defense

He is only a junior. Really a sophomore since last year was a free year.

I just looked at the box score. I was shocked to see Jayden only played 12 minutes. It seemed like he was out there more than that and his impact felt far more than someone only out there for 12 minutes.

Well that’s even better. He has earned his minutes for sure

Its always cool to see a young man get better at his craft...Jayden appears to demonstrate what can happen if one puts in the work. Kudos to him.

Jayden has always done an excellent job of getting to good looks. In the past he has had issues making those. He is doing better now.

Sometimes he is too aggressive and doesn't know when to pull it back out...But the kid has improved.

He may be the most improved player on the team year over year. I have both cheered for and lambasted him, often in the same game, sometimes in the same breath. But I always suspected he had a game in him and he's proven that this season.

I like this 9 man rotation and he should definitely get important minutes.

RE: Jayden Hardaway
Every basketball team (college and pro) needs a savvy, hustling utility man who can play about 10 minutes and do a variety of things (hit a three on occasion, make a timely steal or rebound, etc.). Most importantly, that man needs to graciously accept he will not play big minutes but can still help the team. Hardaway is that man for these Tigers. He has found a role and is doing well with it. Penny deserves some props for 1. no longer starting his son (I never understood that but perhaps it was only one game); 2. giving him the proper number of minutes and 3. helping JH define his role.

Never thought I'd say this but it appears Jayden is much improved this season & much more mature physically. He apparently has been working to be a better player. Good for him & the team. He's just good for spot minutes because his D is still weak. But he's actually helping the team.

i think he's fine defensively, he tends to make the right play, and is generally under control. He's not the most talented player ever, he may not help you a lot, but he rarely hurts you. EVERY team needs a couple of guys like that to step in for a minutes here or there or a spot start.

i like him getting 10-15 minutes a game.

I love the FT line elbow jumper. Adds a different dimension to the offense. If Bates could add that to his game we’d be able to run a ton of different actions

I agree with most everything said. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but I’d like to see him get more aggressive going after loose balls. I don’t remember if I saw it yesterday, but the past few games (minimum) he’s been a little shy about jumping in the mix/diving for it. Do that, please.
