Fortunately for me, I didn't attend the U of M. My diploma is from Memphis State.

But it's not like they're the only woke university. It's practically everybody. Sad. Just like the MSM. Propaganda arm of one political party.

RE: Memphis....We Have A Problem
And we wonder why we have an entire generation who thinks socialism is a good thing and that people should get paid enough money to live comfortably with a minimum skills job. Schools were too woke back in the 90s when I attended, but at least I was still able to learn practical things. Now, they can't even teach basic mathematics without some dumb@ss screaming that counting numbers is racist for some asinine reason.

Governor Bill Lee steps and yanks the University back in line

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/univers...ke-courses

The University of Memphis will not proceed with offering faculty $3,000 as part of a controversial program to infuse ideas like "equity" into their courses, Gov. Bill Lee, R-Tenn., reportedly said.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on Saturday that Lee said the university "informed my office that the initiative will not move forward."

"We welcome robust debate on college campuses, but taxpayer dollars should never be used to fuel a divisive, radical agenda," he added.

Well said. Let's see how "woke" college campuses will be when they have to fully fund their wokeness.

8 Telltale Signs Your College Professor Is A Secret Conservative

Quote:College is hard enough without having your progressive values challenged. It’s important to make sure that your learning space is a safe and equitable environment. There’s nothing worse in life than a micro-aggression under the guise of an opinion.

Here are eight things to keep an eye out for when starting a new class. If you have a professor who exhibits any of these behaviors, report them to the Dean of Diversity immediately!

1) They just got fired: If your professor just got canceled by a woke mob and fired, he's probably a conservative. Great news! You won’t have to drop their class, but you should still keep tabs on their social media and dox them as soon as they let their guard down.

2) Can have a normal conversation: If someone can go more than five minutes without mentioning how many trans women of color are being murdered then they are part of the problem.

3) Doesn’t wear a giant yellow pin with his pronouns on them: There’s nothing more offensive than demanding people assume your own gender.

4) Did not cancel class on January 6: I had to get out of bed and do things!

5) Classroom missing requisite 36 posters and slogans related to BLM and Trans Activism: Flags are acceptable in place of posters.

6) Teaches you in-person: This is tantamount to murder. He might as well be committing war crimes in Iraq.

7) Uses outdated grading system: Education experts agree that grading systems need to move away from the ‘pass/fail’ concept and be replaced with a ‘racist/also racist’ system.

8) They treat all students with dignity and respect regardless of race or gender: I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Great to hear that our senator set the wheels in motion and our governor shut this down.

Now, technically every professor gets a paycheck from the state, so the restriction should apply just to the stipend. If you get a paycheck from the state then NO WOKE CRAP.

IMHO

Related only because it's Memphis, but here's a good one...

Memphis police chief becomes crime victim after gun stolen from personal car

Quote:June 14, 2021, was Davis’ first day as Memphis’ new police chief. Within weeks, Davis talked about one of the Bluff City’s most worrisome crimes.

“More than 40 percent of guns used in crimes are stolen from vehicles of law-abiding citizens,” Davis said during a news conference July 6.

That same day, Mayor Jim Strickland urged Memphians in a tweet to “please never leave an unsecured gun in a car.” Davis delivered that message again in November during a crime forum in East Memphis when she told those in attendance not to make themselves vulnerable to crime.

“Sixty-seven percent of guns that are stolen came from somebody’s car,” she told attendees. “If we could just so something about that number.”

Data released during that forum showed more than 1,300 guns were stolen from cars in Memphis in 2021, topping all previous years.

This is what you get when you hire for diversity only, especially when it checks so many boxes. I see it every day down there at 201 Poplar, incompetence everywhere.

Keep with the affirmative action plan and these are the quality of employees you'll end up with.

The negligence and incompetence it takes for this to happen is not something that's unavoidable.

This happened to the newly elected, far Left Hamilton County (Cincinnati) Sheriff last year after she had won election.
