Again, nothing other than my own gut in thinking the Eagles have a shot at either one.
This makes a lot of sense to me. I know a lot of people (myself included) seem to be excited for May and think he is the next man up, but if I had to bet on it I'd go with Smith.
There is a reason (perhaps May was injured but I never heard anything like that) that, even though May had a full year in the program, Smith came in as a true freshman and was clearly ahead of him. Smith got into a game this year (May did not) and Smith was listed as the third QB on the depth chart all year.
You have all of spring and fall practices, a lot can still happen so we'll see.
Yes. We need to have someone in Ypsi following spring ball. This is the future of the 2022 season and if QB goes south our defense won't save the day for us.
So I've been mistakenly calling Austin Smith, Cameron. lol my bad
I am eager to see how this shakes out Yes I want Baron but if Austin Smith gives us a better chance to win, I'm fine with whoever. I just really don't like the idea of another portal QB with 1 yr remaining because it doesn't build anything for us if this portal guy isn't an absolute stud.
I guess we will wait until spring ball to see how this works itself out.
