Yeah, that’s what makes good rivalries alright. Especially with teams located nearby, and played on a regular basis. It’s what makes college sports so much fun. It’s one reason why the ul fans so excited that you guys will be joining us. Hope it helps with attendance and atmosphere!

...you dang Cajuns messed up our 'Legion Field' win streak last season... 03-weeping But I'm thinking we (UAB) will keep a pretty regular 'intermittent series' with all of y'all, especially USM and UL - heck, La Tech too... I'd dig playing Marshall once in a while as well, but they may shift over to more MAC teams for OOC (maybe... depending on their 'status' with those folks 03-drunk ) but I'm thinking everyone lands on each other's schedule every now and again... 04-cheers

...and I won't bring up the 'first half' of our series history with the GolDurn Eagles... Or with LaTech... 01-lauramac203-drunk
Ha! Yeah that was a good win for us, and a very typical Napier way: so-so in the first half, but wear ‘em down and grind a victory out. I believe that was the game where Chris Smith had a 99 yd run return score?

In any event we’re looking forward to doing even better at your house in 2023. Just wish we could see y’all at CF sooner than 2026.

ETA: didn’t that end a like 20 win streak at home for y’all?

...yep, y'all made a couple of big plays, and seemed to be a 'step ahead' of us the whole game - thus a pretty frustrating game for us (I'd just as soon get beat by 4-5 TD's as to being JUST out of reach the whole game) - it was actually our LAST game in Legion Field, in 2020... But we had not lost a home game at LF since 'the return' in 2017... so, in our new place, we've lost TWICE as many games (2) than we did in LF from 2017-2020... 03-drunk

There was some talk last year about us playing Tulane at LF as the VISITOR, as they were displaced by hurricane... ? ...and they set up camp in B'ham for a few weeks - they actually played Morgan State at LF, and stomped them ...but they got to return to NOLA for our game with them there... Our new place was 'technically' ready, but the 'grand opening' or whatever was set for a few weeks later (a bad performance in a loss to Liberty... 03-banghead ).

Great to have the H&H with y'all down the road, tho... I made it down to Lafayette back in 1997 for the UAB win over y'all, when we were solely running triple option... it was clicking for us that night - but y'all had a great gameday atmosphere, which I'm sure has just improved over time! See y'all down the road! 04-cheers
