Bowl Observations:
#Loved the half-ass "cMU" stencil in the end zone. #We have to make our center watch the entire replay of his horrible snaps. #I know I've been highly critical of Akey and his defense, but the front four and linebackers really brought the shyt during this game. The secondary, lost as usual. #Can we get a kickoff specialist to put the ball in the end zone? #Lastly, Jimmy Mac really knows how to press buttons to get his guys to play up to and beyond their potential. We won't have him for much longer.

I thought the secondary looked good, until Kent limped off. He went from being the guy QBs picked on to a guy that's making them think twice through the course of the year. I noticed that we're going after a couple DBs in the transfer portal, so that should help with depth for next season.

I agree about the front seven. There's some good material there, and they appear well-coached, to me.

Snaps: I hope some of that was just weather-related, because there were, what, nine that DR had to reach up for?

I guess we'll continue to disagree on the dbs. To me, they can't shadow their own shadows. WSU had several receivers wide open, but because of the bull rush up front, the QB had to rush his throw and/or eat it. The snaps were an issue in the last home game as well - high/low/ slow motion. Has to be addressed. Slim Shady (Meeder) performed well (under the circumstances).

RE: Bowl Observations:
Part of the problem with the snaps, (in my opinion) is that DRich just isn’t that tall.

If I was standing back there getting snaps they all would have hit me in the face or chest. DRich had to reach over his head to grab them.

There’s nothing he can do about his height, but it’s a reality that the guy just isn’t that tall. He’s got legit talent, but let’s face it, if he was taller he wouldn’t be CMU’s QB. He’d be on a P5 roster somewhere most likely.

I heard your QB won a Golden Glove award for that game. 02-13-banana

If by “Golden Glove” you mean another flat of Krispy Kream donuts, you would be right! He’s a midget, but he knows how to win and has good rapport with his receivers (critically important). Little guy can sling it when he’s hot (but he should never wear gloves).

RE: Bowl Observations:
One thing I’d like to see a little bit of next season is if DRich can run.

If he would just tuck it and run even just 2 or 3 times a game,
I think it would keep defenses a bit off. He seemed to be really good at staying in the pocket and delivering the ball under pressure. But would still like to see if he could throw running once in awhile into his game too.

Of course, he’d have to not be sponsored by Krispy Kreme donuts this off season if he wants to try and run…

Attach a stick on top of his helmet with a box of Dunkin' Donuts at the end of the stick, and believe me, he'll run!!!
