End of year top 5
So guess it'll look something like
1 Alabama/Georgia winner
2 Alabama/Georgia loser
3 Michigan
4 Ohio St
5 Cincy

I think it'll be pretty close with Ohio St/Cincy. Could see it going either way really.

Why is Michigan 3? They beat just one good team this year - Ohio State.

Ohio State will definitely jump us (UC).
Had Notre Dame won, they would have jumped us as well

Depending on the outcome of the Sugar Bowl, Baylor may jump us as well.

UC likely finishes 5 or 6.

I'm wondering if Ohio St. drops. They weren't impressive (at least not on D).

They will pass Notre Dame for sure. Would pass Baylor as well pretty easily IMO.

I don't vote based on reputation.

The B10 runs and hides behind a mere 14 P-5 games. They beat the following OOC in the regular season Virginia, West Virginia, Iowa State, Miami, Washington, Syracuse, and Colorado. They lost to Notre Dame twice, to Auburn, to Cincy, to Oregon, to Oklahoma, and to DUKE. Beating 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 win P-5's doesn't say much.

The ACC this year played 9 games against top 10 opponents. Alabama, Michigan State, Georgia -2, and ND - 5, yep lost all nine to the number 1, 2, 6th or 7th and probably 10th ranked schools. Yes the ACC only beat WF (UNC OOC) South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mizzou in the regular season and lost to Mississippi State, West Virginia, and Florida but the point is the ACC plays better OOC games so you have something to compare whereas in the B10 you usually have nothing to compare.

I don't give hoot about the computers and polls. Here are my top 5 based on what I saw all season:

1. UA/UGa winner
2. UA/UGa loser
3. Baylor (played a much tougher schedule than those below)
4. Cincinnati
5. Michigan (they did wallop the Buckeyes)

As for the polls, I'm not sure how much they drop Michigan. They may keep them 3rd since Ohio St. won (had Ohio St. lost, they probably drop further). So Cincinnati would be 4 and Baylor #5.

Well since Baylor was already ahead of Ohio St. in both polls and won by 14 over a higher ranked team than Ohio St. beat by 3, I don't know how Ohio St. passes them.

RE: End of year top 5
We'll end up with no unbeatens and only 3 once beatens.

Cincinnati, the lone unbeaten lost to Alabama. 4 of the 6 once beatens will lose. UTSA lost to San Diego St., Notre Dame lost to Oklahoma St., Michigan lost to Georgia and either Alabama or Georgia will lose to the other. So it will be Georgia or Alabama, Cincinnati and Louisiana-Lafayette.

There will be 12 2 loss teams. Alabama or Georgia, UTSA, Notre Dame, Michigan, Baylor, Oklahoma St., Oklahoma, Michigan St., Ohio St., Houston, Coastal Carolina and San Diego St.

RE: End of year top 5
The top 10 should be the one and 2 loss teams. The top 5 ranked teams that now have 3 losses all fell in bowl games.

So it will be in some order, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Cincinnati, Baylor, Oklahoma St., Oklahoma, Ohio St., Michigan St., Notre Dame. Michigan St. and Oklahoma will be in and Ole Miss and Utah will be out (MSU already top 10 in coach's poll).

Regarding a JRSEC theme, those 15 will include 6 oil patch schools (3 Texas schools, 2 Oklahoma schools, 1 Louisiana school), 1 Alabama school, 1 Georgia school, 1 South Carolina school, 1 California school and 5 midwest schools (all Ohio, Michigan or Indiana).

Didn't you mean Clemson - the team that beat Wake and is 10-3 with losses only to Georgia, Pitt, and NC State. Beating NC State should not cause WF to leap Clemson.

You can have your opinion, but Wake had one more win and won the division. Clemson was 3rd.

WF ooc schedule - Norfolk State, Army, Old Dominion, UNC
Clemson ooc schedule - Clemson, South Carolina, South Carolina State, UConn

Hmm, WF was 3-1 against theirs and Clemson 3-1 against theirs. Not very comparable though.

I guess that 48-27 ass whippn' Clemson gave WF doesn't count for much either. Of that Pitt beat Clemson by one score and but stomped WF.

Kap's not here anymore so knee jerk biased against Clemson is not needed.
