Can we take a minute and talk about this guy? 6'9" 230lb. Jr.

Played in 11 games
12.7 minutes per game
17 blocks(Tied for #1 in the CAA)
3.3 Rebs per game
2.4 ppg on 44.8% FG
4 steals

Against Delaware he played 22 minutes:

Six points, seven rebounds, three blocks(refs stole one so should have been four), two steals. And he intimidated and harassed their big men whenever he was in the game, kept rebounds alive, and forced their big men to pass out of the paint on several posessions when they had been posting up and scoring almost at will. If he can stay out of foul trouble he can be a big factor going forward.

Bringing back memories of Big Ced for me!

RE: Amari Kelly
He was a force to be reckoned with.

I remember a stretch late in the game though where it seemed he was out of the game for a decent stretch. Has anyone heard the reason why? I don't believe he was in much foul trouble? My guess is that he just needed a break.

Hopefully his offensive hands continue to improve and we can rely on him for big minutes and production on both sides of the floor. What a performance last night though. Absolutely won the game for us.

He seems to do better on offense when he grabs an offensive rebound and goes up. But even if he doesn't score much, his defense is CAA 1st team level and he can battle with any big men for rebounds. Baker was overmatched in the paint last night and couldn't rebound or stop them on offense. I never pictured Baker playing the five . In a four guard offense, Kelly's ability to block and alter shots is invaluable. If you watch him play he not only has the size to rebound, he is great at boxing out.

Having him around next year will be huge with the roster turnover.

Amari likely has 2 more years of eligibility after this year due to last year being a Covid year. Sims could elect to come back next year and Shy should have 2 more after this year too. Harvey should have 3 more, Thomas and McGriff with 3 more and Samb with 2 more after this year.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how that worked out. Holy smoke, we could be really good next year and the next few years as the new guys come in.

You can find the last game he played in the John Wall tournament online. You used the right description.
