What Would You Do?
So I like to dream big and play the Powerball/Megamillions when it gets pretty high.

Folks we is at that point. So what would you do with that life changing cash?

PB is at $483 million.

I use a website and put in my info and if I were to take the lump sum after taxes I'm looking at $200 million.

I know I'd hire a tax attorney and accountant for tax purposes, and probably check into a financial advisor to help make the money work for me.

After I pay off what debt we have (my wife and I), along with throwing my tithes in and donating to charities/scholarships, and helping immediate family members (our parents and siblings) the rest is house money. Honestly I'd still be looking in the ballpark of close to $140-150 million (I'd be generous and it's just an estimate).

My plan would be to give my wife and I $10k a piece to just blow on stupid stuff. Whatever our heart desired. Get it out of our system.

I then want to take a small chunk and put it somewhere accessible so my wife and I can pull from it when we need money.

I'd want to set up a trust for my son so he's always taken care of.

Remodel our house (We like our house and neighbors).

Purchase some land in the mountains and build a camp to have as a getaway.

Upgrade my wife's car to whatever she wanted.

Purchase several acres of land locally to build a metal shop for storage/welding/carpentry shop and to build some type of housing to run a Air BnB (we live in a valley surrounded by mountains with good hunting and fishing along with being near a major university).

Probably purchase some of the local student housing and remodel it and be selective with the tenants.

Invest our money not only in those endeavors but others that work for us, when we get fed up with it, sell it off except the BnB.

I'd probably upgrade my truck to a 3/4 ton or 1 ton and buy a 5th wheel so we can camp in various parts of the country or when I go out west to hunt I have a place to stay.

I'd probably buy a couple old trucks/cars and restore. They'd be my toys but I'd also rent them to people who want to use them in pictures.

I'd enjoy life. Take the vacations I'm always too busy for.

Buy season tix for the Saints/Steelers/Golden Eagles, and when I can't make a game, sell them or give them to friends.

What would you do?

RE: What Would You Do?
I don't have a lot of debt. Not cause I was smart, just lucky I guess.

1. Wife and I would pay off our debts.

2. We have 2 kids, both well on their way to successful careers (29 and 31). They will continue to work but we would be able to take away some of the financial stress that some young folks feel today. My Grandson, Z 5th, 15 months old, would get enough to prepare him for retirement. There would be stipulations in order to get the complete amount. No crack, no marryin' hoes, only 1 car wreck before 30, Must be gainfully employed till retirement age, unless his Dad says otherwise. I wont care because I will be worm food by then. etc.

3. Wife will have the pick of whatever new vehicle she wants. She aint flashy, itll be a 2018 Camry with an extended warranty. I kid you not, you don't know my wife!

4. Me, Im getting one of those obscenely expensive pick up trucks. Ram, Chevy, Ford, I aint choosy.

5. Id like to get an RV and travel the USA. Keep the home so we can hunker down anytime we feel like coming home.

6. Travel the world, when we arent in US.

7. Get my right knee fixed. Sumb*tch is hurting, not enough time to get it done right now though.

8. Get a personal trainer once the knee is healed up. Need to stay in shape so I can throw the ball with Z5 when he is old enough and I am home.
9. I have 2 brothers and a sister. Wife has 2 brothers. We'd drop a few bucks on each them. Don't necessarily need it, but they are all really wonderful folks and we are blessed to have them as family.
10. My Mom is 83 years old and although she is in pretty good shape, she is slowing down. Pretty sure my Dad took care of her, but I would make sure.

I know there are tons of other things, just right off the top of my head this is what I got. Heck its 200 million if ypo take the lump sum, right? You can do anything you want.

Setup all the family by removing debt. Like others establish trusts for the 3 kids. [All under 10 years old right now].

Invest in land and my wife's photography studio.

Setup a scholarship at odu.

Give my firm a years notice and start my own consulting firm to keep busy or get more involved in our local startup and angels groups as a fractional cio/advisor/investor.

Lots of travel. House and land in mountains off grid and a place down in Kill Devil Hills. Bounce back and forth but keep kids in current home, remodeled.

A 6 seater golf cart and post up and enjoy. :)
