The bolded part there. This kid (who's father has clearly forgiven and still loves), if you read that closely... chose to bite the hand that fed him. Now, instead of being a man... he's "raising money" to support himself. This right here is what is wrong with American youth. Zero personal responsibility, and somehow sees it justified to ask for handouts based on what exactly? Some sort of moral superiority for reporting his father to the gov't, and now his father is locked up and the rest of his family struggling to support themselves?

If I had a kid like that, I'd sure hope nobody would give him money and someone would smack some sense into him.

A PERFECT case of what happened in Germany where kinfolk were told to be good patriots and turn in their parents, siblings and kinfolk so to be labeled "Good Nazis".
