UC wins game 2 16-5.

They are 6-4 now. They've hit 20 HR in their 10 games.

JP Sponseller hit 3 HR and had 7 RBI in game 2.

Was streaming it on ESPN+. A beautiful ball park and an exciting team. If I were a student, I would definitely be there. A great time to be a Bearcat.

In a postgame interview with Coach Googins, attendance was mentioned again. This week for OSU and Northwestern, UC recorded two of its five largest crowds ever for baseball.

He's building a program here. Imagine just a few years ago a homestand where UC beat B10 opponents four out of five consecutive games. After a rather dismal ending to the basketball regular season, this is good tonic for UC fans.

If those attendance numbers keep getting put up, I think our record improves considerably. You could clearly see how juiced the guys were, and that carried them to some pretty great performances so far, regardless of opponent.

If you have not been, UC Baseball is a fun afternoon. Great facility. Competitive team. Family friendly as well.

Took my boys and they loved it. My oldest even caught a foul ball.

All true. And the only game in town until the billionaires quit feuding with the millionaires in MLB.

On one level, there's no comparison to the MLB experience. But the cost to take a couple of kids to GABP for a game, food, and beverage will reach $100 fast. College baseball is cheap entertainment and, statistically speaking, the kids are more likely to get a souvenir foul pop. Thankfully, more people are discovering Bearcat baseball and it only gets more exciting in the Big 12.

For me its a more pure game. The games speed is much better, kids actually hustle and run out ground balls. There is an excitement that isn't there at mlb games. Nothing better than stealing a day down there on a sunny March day.

UC lost their midweek game at Indiana on Tuesday 7-0.

Tomorrow they play Michigan State in their first game of the First Pitch Invitational in Greenville, S.C. at 2 pm.

They play Kansas on Saturday and Western Carolina on Sunday. They added a game against USC Upstate in S.C. on Monday.

According to the UC schedule all 4 of these games can be seen on YouTube.

I’m the same way. College baseball is a better game for many fans of the game. More intimate and relatable and the fundamentals and energy is so much better overall.

Someone needs to tell all these young Reds fans who like to post selfies of them drinking beers at GAPB on social media that they can do it at UC as well.

It's a really interesting social discussion.

I really enjoy three sports (Football, MMA, and Baseball). Any three of those, I can watch any level of those sports and be entertained all night. I'd even argue that NFL is my least enjoyable option to watch football.

The average fan feels like they need to watch the highest level of play to be entertained, when I'd argue they probably couldn't tell the difference from one level to another. I've never been to a UC game, but I enjoy a minor league game as much as I do a MLB game.

There's a similar feel to a minor league game. Our stadium is small (max capacity is 2,500), but you are sitting right on top of the action. As previously discussed there are some things they could do improve fan experience (ie. a new scoreboard) but that will come with more fan interest and investment.

I've thought about getting season tickets and just going when I'm up to it. The thing that always holds me back is, I don't want to mess with the parking. Where do you guys park?

I park off street on Eden Park Dive for free and make the easy walk to campus.

Hope the Cats do well this weekend. That is a nice stadium in Greenville, SC. I know people there but won't get back until late July.

Anyone have a read on this weekend's opponents? Here's hoping the IU game is out of their heads and the Bearcats can take down another B10 opponent this afternoon.
