Nah, LSU has 3 national titles in that time frame. The BCS title was the official title of all the BCS member schools, which was the entirety of FBS.

Now, if you recognize the AP as well, then give USC a title too. But you can't give LSU a half of a title, IMO.

I gave them each half a title for that year. I was looking at an NCAA list and they listed both schools, only time in BCS era.

Congratulations to both Alabama and Georgia for their great seasons and making the CFP. Two unbelievably talented teams.

Michigan and Cincy didn't do anything to help at all.

Cincy actually played well defensively and ran up against a dominant DL. I think Cincy acquitted themselves well even in a loss. They played hard until the clock expired.

Michigan on the other hand was blown out plain and simple. UGa scored on their first four possessions and Michigan didn't find the endzone until late in 4th Qtr and down 34-3. And even then Georgia could have scored again. I saw Michigan players with that 1000 yard stare.

It would have been interesting to see Cincy play Michigan.

Sorry Dude, but the Bama-Cincy game was never in doubt. Bama dominated it from the beginning and were never threatened. Cincy had the best team a G5 has ever fielded and was no match.

That's about every Bama SF game in the last 7 years. Wasn't any different than last year vs Notre Dame. Or 2018-19 vs Oklahoma, Or vs Clemson in 2017-18. Or Washington or Michigan St. That was more Alabama than it was Cincy.

They only gave up 27 points. They played well defensively. They ran into a dominant D line, hence 3 points. Where did I say the game was in doubt? Cincy played hard until the clock ran out. This is true and serves in contrast to a Michigan team that played a zombie like 3rd quarter and was soundly beaten offensively and defensively. Alabama had 17 first half points and only scored 10 more. Cincy played the better game when compared to Michigan.

While I agree that Alabama was not in any serious jeopardy, nor was Georgia, I set my comments so as to contrast Cincinnati to Michigan. Cincy's D played well. Both were dominant wins by the SEC. Cincy did put up a fight and played through the end. Michigan scored against subs and was only reanimated the last 3 minutes of the game.

LSU 2.5 (first with Saban)
Florida 2
Auburn 1

12.5 of the 19 titles current SEC schools

Texas 1
Clemson 2
Ohio St. 1
FSU 1
USC 1.5

Another way to look at it: Saban 6.5 to 7.5
all other coaches 11.5 to 12.5

Now look at all of the schools which have won titles from the Deep South and Texas/ Oklahoma since 2000. The numbers are definitive and staggering. The sport is loved nationwide but has been dominated by one region since 2000 with a special nod to Ohio!

This is one reason NIL is needed and pay for play. Set roster limits back to 95 and watch a bit more parity occur.

For the 24 years of the BCS/CFP era, its 13.5 deep south SEC schools, 5 deep south current ACC schools, Texas/Oklahoma 2 and 3.5 other (Ohio St. 2, USC 1.5).

It's even more impressive when you look at Championship Game Appearances over the last 24 years:
South SEC: 18
South today-ACC: 11
South Big 12: 6
Ohio: 5
Oregon: 2
USC: 2 (both forfeited)
All Others: 4 (Oregon 2, Nebraska, Notre Dame)

It's impressive that the same lopsidedness appears when you consider top-4 playoff appearances since the playoff began in 2014:

South SEC: 10
Ohio (or teams almost in Ohio): 9
South ACC: 7
South Big 12: 4
Cascadia: 2
