I tip my hat to the few of us who have kept up with this thread (and others like it) following its banishment to “Off Topic”. It is s comfort knowing that there are other people who care about more than just a losing basketball team.

But in the meantime, I’m still not allowed in my own public library. Norfolk school kids are still being forced to wear masks. My assistant’s kids are still being told to stay home for 14 days when one of their classmates tests positive.

In some ways, we are worse off than sheep. For most flocks, their shepherds aren’t abusing them.

Keep complaining about it. You have yet to give one good example of why the topic of general COVID discussion belongs on a sports message board for ODU athletics.

I don’t have a good example. I have a very bad example:

That being than a year’s worth of top-of-the-page Old Dominion forum posts accusing anyone who dared to question the approved narrative of being selfish, anti-Asian, anti-science, grandma-killing, degenerates. Now, two years later, with jobs crippled, kids undereducated, fans going through the charade of wearing a mask for five steps from the front door through the turnstiles, and any comments are considered bad-mannered “complaining”.

Whatever. I suppose one crotchety old guy yelling into the darkness is better than dozens of fragile fans being exposed to non-sports talk on a sports forum.

So, no, you are correct. I don’t have a good example to offer.

The thread being moved has been explained ad nausea. We were pretty patient to allow it on the board for as long as we did. But if you’re going to continue to complain about the moderation on this board, you might want to familiarize yourself with the AUP and realize how patient we have been with all of this before that patience runs out.
