RE: CBB Week 7 General Thread/Laughable scores
Okay, for Montevallo:
A good home win 90-85 over AUM ,a 69-67 over Mississippi College, and a 69-62 win over Delta State in Gulf South Conference play, also at home.
An ouch 74-75 OT loss to UWF @ UWF.
The laughable, but more ouch: 53-79 loss @ Valdosta State
For Pensacola Christian:
97-68 win over Blue Lights College at home. Interestingly enough, Blue Lights College men's basketball coach is a woman!!!
A close loss 91-95 to Crowley's Ridge College on the road.

Both programs have bad fits at head coach. It will be interesting to see if one or both become open in the Spring. Georgia would be much more likely IMO.
Crean is 46-57 at Georgia, and $3.2 million is pocket change for that athletic department. It's a good bet that Crean gets that $ to fund his Buyout Life.
I don't know about that. Crean actually brought a level of excitement to the program. Firing him right now would set the program back even further than it is right now. I'm willing to give Crean some more time. Georgia is not a powerhouse basketball program like Memphis, Kentucky, or Georgetown are, so expectations are lower. Crean is a lot different than Fox who we canned and rightly so because everyone had gave up on him, and I think Crean still has some support left.

RE: CBB Week 7 General Thread/Laughable scores
Getting back to scores:
Troy lost at home to Southeastern Louisiana 68-72, but rebounded with wins over Tennessee Tech on the road, 75-72, Alabama A& M at home 66-57, Arkansas Baptist at home 84-64, Mercer 69-65 on the road, and Texas State on the road 78-63. Up next is UTA @ UTA later today.
For Oregon, the Ducks have been wildly inconsistent, IMO. Try this on for size:
Home win vs UC-Riverside 71-65
Home OT loss to Arizona State 67-69
Home loss to Stanford,
69-72
Home win over Portland, 96-71
Home loss to Baylor, 70-78
Home win over Pepperdine, 68-59

Looks pretty consistent to me. Only wins vs. teams that are low level Div. 1 teams. If you took off the "Oregon" level or the fact that they played Arizona State, Stanford, and Baylor at home, I'd say this team is a mid major. I'm sure there are plenty of mid majors that have lost to two Pac-12 teams and one Big 12 team. When a team beats a P6 team they earn the right to be called inconsistent.

when are teams ever going to learn when you're up 3 late in a game you need to foul? Creighton just burned Marquette not fouling with a huge 3 to send game into double OT.

Creighton's a good deal better than I thought they would be this year. Pulling an all-conference forward out of thin air, who was apparently just hanging out in D-2 for four years for whatever reason, helps.

Agreed. Terrible call not to foul (although Shaka said in his post game presser that analytics show sideline out-of-bounds plays, in that situation with so little time left, defenders often mistakenly foul while in the act of shooting). I think the killer was Prosper rolled with his man to the basket instead of double teaming the shooter. Giving up a two in that situation, with only three seconds left, is meaningless.
Backbreaking loss that pretty much eliminates our chance of getting to ten conference wins now. NIT or bust at this point, unless there's a miracle.
Creighton reloading in one year is great for the league.

The tough part is that the way the play went, had a real easy shot to foul on purpose where the guy had no chance of shooting.
NIT would be a good goal for Marquette this year.
