Is this a joke? Or was he there just to stay in shape?

It can't be a joke. That is cruel.

I get it but Pugh was tremendous when healthy. Now just spread some fairy health dust to keep him that way.

Sounds like a 15 yard penalty and possible ejection but sure, why not.

Completely serious. Hammock posted a picture of him lifting weights and said how great it is to have his leadership back.

Lafayette and Waylee were both involved in the workout as well, so looks like they will be ready and available for spring practices.

I don't remember seeing this anywhere, but true freshman Trey Porter is on campus as an early enrollee

Is it true that Pugh's grandkid is enrolling at NIU this fall?

RE: On to 2022!
Guy (Pugh) should go into coaching. I've seen a few videos of the guy in the huddle and on the field. He's got rare leadership traits that make you want to run into a wall at full speed. If football is done for him, he's got a future in leadership.

He might be the first player to play for NIU while collecting Social Security.

Pugh is still in play. Hammock won’t kick him out of the nest. He will get every opportunity to finish his last year of eligibility. Like Deveaux.

Pugh was a member of our 2014 class. Crazy how long ago that was.

If Pugh got a full ride in 2014 and if for some reason he still has eligibility for the 2022 season, has his scholarship covered all of his education from 2014-2022?

Does he have a PhD at this point?

I need a LONG rest from football so that my heart can recover and my blood pressure settle down. I take two heart pills and three blood pressure pills daily. I need a nice long rest before next season. My only goal for next season is to get through it alive.

Don’t get me wrong I like that Pugh had this opportunity and is a great leader, but how on earth does he still have eligibility? Is he going for his 3rd masters degree? PhD?

If I were him, I'd totally go for a master's or doctorate's, if NIU were paying the bill. It would be far more useful than Ballroom dancing or Scuba Diving in Anderson Hall.

Could Pugh move over to Devaux’s spot? I know he’s been great in the middle when he is healthy, but would an outside spot be less physical? He could play at a more natural weight without bulking up. Let Rattin hold down MLB at 230lbs where he has shown he can last.

Come again! It’s those toys that are keeping me alive (as long as the batteries are still good).

Pugh will probably be back in the middle until he breaks again. I like him as a player, his body just cannot hold up for a full season. If he wants to, I say screw it play as long as you can.

Would be a real help if he can hold down the middle and let one of the kids who is going to take that spot in 2023 grow and learn a bit more.

Pugh coming back is like a nice transfer pick up.

Let's pray that he doesn't break down and has his health throughout the year.
But, would he break the record for a 9 year scholarship if something did happen to him?
