OVC map?
At this point, do we know for sure what the member schools in our sports will be when we become a member (as much as anything is "for sure" in college sports these days)?

RE: OVC map?
I have to admit that I am pretty excited about moving to the OVC. I always had the feeling that we were at best tolerated by the football schools, since football looks down its nose at all the other sports.

Members include SIU-E, Tenn-Martin, Tenn State, Tenn Tech, Morehead State, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, and SEMO. Austin Peay and Belmont have announced they are leaving. We are being added. Murray State is likely going to the MoValley.

Possible adds include Western Illinois from the Summit and Southern Indiana University from DII. Message board rumors have suggested that Tenn State might go to SWAC and Tenn Tech to the ASUN. Some have speculated that UCA or UAPB could be possible adds. The status of football in both the OVC and ASun is tenuous. Some have suggested that Austin Peay may rethink its move if the ASUN doesn't add a football member or 2 with Jacksonville State's departure. Don't see UCA making another conference change, but if the ASun doesn't have enough for football, who knows. Certainly, UCA moving to the OVC would be a great scenario for us.

RE: OVC map?
I've seen some speculate that the OVC may try to offer a "McNeese type deal" to Austin Peay to get them to stay. They are completing a beautiful new arena in Clarksville. Holding the OVC tournament there for a few years might not be the worst idea. Central location in a brand new arena. Are they really that much better off in the ASun. If they stay, maybe we get UCA as well.

Unlike the McNeese State deal made by the Southland, I’d have no problem with Austin Peay being awarded the tournament for a few years, but definitely a finite period of time, as opposed to open ended ad infinitum deal like McNeese got. The OVC Tournament is in Evansville for this year and next for sure, and they may have an extension option.

RE: OVC map?
But it looks like the footprint is reasonably concentrated, which is good. Not like the SBC or some of the western conferences, who really have no choice.
