UT’s Next Football Coach ??
Urban Meyer fired by Jacksonville. Coming back to his hometown? Didn’t last very long.

I think even the OSU fans are glad to see him gone, Didn't treat people well. Too arrogant.

Oh please I’d take Urban Meyer in a heartbeat. He’d only be here for 3 years max but you could expect 10 win seasons and a MAC title easily.
But, not going to happen so let’s move on

No wins or championships are worth having a horrible human being as our coach.

I wouldn't bet that every coach through here or here now has been a perfect human. But they wouldn't generally attract the media attention Meyer does. All I know about the guy is that when he was coach, his players got to class. A couple times by escort. And they did their own work. Can't say those things about all coaches. He gives of his time for a couple Toledo charities also.
That club thing wasn't a shiney example. Other than that, I wouldn't know what he's done to earn "horrible." Take your word on it, I'm not up on his controversies. That said, I wouldn't want the circus that would come with him being HC.

This. I don't want 10 win seasons if it means having coaches kicking players, players getting arrested, scandals, etc

RE: UT’s Next Football Coach ??
It's the shear number of things he has done (proven) or been accused of doing in such a short period of time (half a season) that is amazing to me. It seems almost incomprehensible someone of his supposed stature to be so completely lacking in self awareness to keep doing so many things again and again, even after you have been caught the 1st couple or 6 times. It certainly appears that he really doesn't seem to care about anyone or anything other than himself and his paycheck. It makes you wonder if there are things he might have done at Florida or OSU or BG that got covered up or swept under the rug by other folks who just wanted to keep winning games. No, not at UT.
Besides, some school will hire him and pay him $12M a year or something ridiculous even after all this, just because you know, winning is all that matters no matter how you do it.

Never finished higher than third in the MAC at BG.

Saban wouldn't hire Urban Meyer at Toledo.

RE: UT’s Next Football Coach ??
I am aware of only two coaches who had previously coached under Meyer, who coached elsewhere, and then came back and coached with him again - Greg Studrawa (BG, came back from Utah to stay at BG under Brandon, coached at LSU and Maryland, before reuniting with Meyer at OSU) and Chris Ash (with Meyer at OSU, left for the Rutgers HC job, and coached with Meyer at Jacksonville).
Some of the things he allowed players to get away with were ridiculous. Muschamp kicked a player off the Gators a year after Meyer left. Player had several drug arrests and Muschamp let him go. A reporter spoke to the former player and his response was that he would still be on the football team if Meyer was still the UF coach. He suspended a player who was gouging an opponents eyes from playing the first half of the following game (the player pulled himself from being able to play the entire game).
He's not worth it. Definitely does not have the character of the Pope he was named after.
What do Urban Meyer, Moe Ankney, and Mike Jinx have in common?
They are all HC's that never took BG to a bowl game.
