Excited about the challenge. If we win or get embarrassed it won’t be the first or last time. Just enjoy.

Meh. Hard to get excited about the impending beatdown we're going to get after a disappointing season (relative to expectations). I'm much more amped about the WVU game.

I don't think it will be a beat down.

I’m focused on the basketball game. Win this game and prove to me I should get excited about games like this, again, in the future. Goes for both sports.

I’m stoked, we get an extremely quality opponent on a Saturday on ABC. We neeeeeeeeed games like this . It will be good for the coaches and the players

I agree. We also need a respectable showing as well to show AAC officials they made a good choice selecting UAB for their conference.

I’m excited for both games. Hope the cell coverage at the BJCC is good enough for me to watch the football game on my phone. Yelling at two different sets of refs at once is like graduate level fandom.

Well, maybe uab can keep it closer than Navy losing 55-3 or Houston losing 43 to 26, or Ucf losing 49-23 or usf losing 35-27 like the last 4 aac teams on byu’s schedule.

That will come in handy on the AAC board if we do lose.

FWIW, SP+ has us vs. BYU as a 50% win chance. 29-29 projected score with BYU by 0.2 points. I sure hope it’s as close of a game as that predicts

This seems nuts, what are we missing? They have a bad defense and an excellent offense, we have a good defense and a mediocre offense, seems like that would set up in their favor with modern football.

And even the spread at BYU -6.5 seems pretty close. Obviously hoping for a win but I would be very happy if UAB is able to hover around the spread.

...goes without saying, but in our case it bears repeating, IF we can keep the "stupid" style, and of course ALL penalties, to a minimum, AND get some sort of cohesive offensive plan - with adjustments at half as needed (duh again), we have a shot. I'm not sure as to who we still have playing or if some have already bugged out to the portal or whatever, but wondering if BYU has the same thing going on... which is interesting, as, from what I remember, BYU students have to do the one year mission thing prior to playing, which makes it a bit more of a 'commitment' to the program for the life of a player's career (i.e., not sure if BYU has a 'transfer portal' issue as much as the typical program...)

UAB can beat BYU if it plays like it did against UTSA and Marshall minus the dumb stuff in both. Byu is very good but I think they were not as good in the 2nd half of the season as they were in the 1st. Also, motivations matter a lot in bowl games. I really expect this game to be competitive.
