Personally, several schools have missed the boat not hiring him. Bill, if given the chance, would improve a lot of P5 schools.

I think the troll came with saying Bill wants to leave. You can honestly say that about any G5 coach, eventually they do want to leave for a P5 job. Clark interviewed for the Auburn job but word was he would not had been able to bring his own staff. Same was said about Napier when he interviewed for Auburn.

I don't think any UAB fan is under the illusion that Clark will never leave. Hell most of us feel is he gone if the opportunity he likes becomes available. But something you also have to consider is that Clark doesn't have a great track record when it comes to winning against quality opponents. He's 0-7 against P5 programs since his tenure at UAB. His only decent wins have been against CUSA programs. His defenses are undisciplined and leads the nation in penalties.

My personal opinion is that if he had a better record against P5 foes he would be gone already. If he when Clark leaves most of us will wish him well because he truly did save UAB Football.
