Hawaii Bowl

- Practice and play against peer group players

They really don’t, which is why they’re there. And why there are draft busts in every sport every year. The best scouts have to dig deep to be the best, like hearing a hitch in a batter’s swing. And they never stop. There’s a shitload of money riding on that pick. The movies Draft Day and Trouble with the Curve are works of fiction, but still perfect examples.

Sort of proves my point -in a round about way . The WWW gives scouts the means to scout high school/college in a way they never have before----the best HS players are ranked 1* 2*3*4*5*--the college players are ranked/evaluated --HS/college games all seem to be on the internet----film footage everywhere ---and scouts still get it wrong sometimes

My point being all star games don't really mean as much anymore -- as in the past in evaluating players--- because of the internet ---information highway when it comes to players---JMO---but I agree with some of your post

Well, my point in mentioning those movies was that though computers, the internet, film footage, etc. have made the job a LOT easier, they don’t reveal character or leadership traits. At the Senior Bowl, they get to see their prospects play against the best of the best. And can interview anyone they want after practices. And they can talk to teammates, coaches, etc. They can find out if the prospect treats the hotel staff like crap. They want to know what kind of man you are. That’s what they’re digging for. Film footage and algorithms don’t tell them that.

So they have to do both.

RE: FB visit- Transfer?
This debate is essentially which is more important to evaluating potential prospect talents, a bowl game or an all-star game.

Only someone that is completely clueless would think the answer is a bowl game. Unless you are talking about a NY6 game or Playoff, there is zero chance the bowl game is more important. If you are talking about those games, the all-star would still be more important. Most every post arguing against that is just revealing the depth of the lack of knowledge about how that process works.

They were saying on 92.9 that he was being held out to Redshirt until injuries forced them to use him in the 4th game.

So all of those yards came after the 4th game.

Why would he want to return to a Staff that didn't recognize after preseason & all the way into 4 games that he was the better talent?

Ike has some very good information however,
IKE's been asked to Lay Low for awhile, the source doesn't want others knowing our intentions at this time.
Ike can say if we land 3 of these Dudes we'll be getting some major help
