Correction: "vote"

Nevertheless...a vote is a vote.

RE: Receiving Votes
I get really fired up about getting votes in the polls. The sound bite to anyone I talk to who ask "is NIU in D1?" that they are now #36 in the country is the only one that connects with anyone. Gives credibility. Getting votes and being ranked at any level is so critical to our program, this is why I hate losing any games, even the WMU game that meant nothing in the MAC- if we won maybe we would be in the Top 30.

Beating Coastal will be a cap on a really great season. I want this one badly to keep our incredible momentum going strong into the off season.

Go Huskies!

Which is damn impressive given the number of freshman on the team!

RE: Receiving Votes
This will help so much with getting ranked next year if we get off to a good start. I don’t want to get too overhyped, but OOC is eastern, Tulsa, Vandy. Very winnable. NIU could find itself sitting in that 40ish ranked area if they’re 3-0 because they may start off around 50-60 in preseason. Then if you can beat Kentucky I think you’re in that “others receiving votes” position.

That’s all best case scenario stuff. Who knows, we could end up on the other end of all those 1 score games. It’s just great to have an exciting team to root for.
