RE: Pitt Coordinator Up & Quit
It's a move that sucks. I think he did great in developing Pickett, but he's also up there in age. He's not someone that I would get into a bidding war for. If he was 25 years younger, I would've paid whatever he wanted for him to stay. I definitely think he deserved some sort of raise, but he got no more than 3 years left in the tank, so I don't view this as rough as a loss as one would think. Our offense will be fine next year, and our defense should be much improved.

RE: Pitt Coordinator Up & Quit
Appears to be widely known around the program this was going to be his last year at Pitt, and was only still there for Pickett's last year. So it appears to have been in the plans for Pitt to move on without him, although there are rumors the timing was forced a littler early and hence the odd resignation.

Great offensive mind.

Maybe he’s not quitting, just opting out? 07-coffee3

Dino turns 61 in July. Obviously Whipple has not missed a step. He would be a big step up offensively over Dino. He is a northeastern guy thru and thru. Dino is not. All of his college coaching jobs have been in the northeast and he was born on Long Island. Even most of his NFL jobs were in the northeast. He doesnt have to be at SU forever, just several years to make SU relevant again until they could find some young hotshot coach with northeastern roots.

Good points. I just thought Syracuse would want someone younger.

There was a lot of discontent around him until this season when he had Heisman and Biletnikoff finalists.

Pitt has offered coordinators 7 figures. This isn't specifically financial from Pitt end. Some things are personal and some things are personnel. No ill will towards Whip. Odd choice for Frost though.

Pitt Coordinator Up & Quit
Word is that his relationship with Narduzzi soured as the season progressed. Likely because he kept calling home run throws on 4th and 1.
