You might have ESPN+ already if you have Disney+ or Hulu, or if you use Verizon with an unlimited plan you may just need to activate a free subscription. There may be other ways to get this too. Maybe others can share if they are aware of it.

I activated a free subscription of ESPN+ over the weekend. I tested/watched Friday and Saturday FCS games on numerous devices (Amazon firestick, Roku, iPad, iPhone, Chromecast, laptop). Flawless streaming. Crystal clear pictures. Overwhelming amount of sports content available. I never had a Flo subscription, but if you're a first time ESPN+ member it's impressive. Even if I had to pay for it, it would be worth it.

Great points Deez. I'll add you should periodically check your mobile provider's perks regardless of who you have. These companies are getting competitive with each other and aligning with streaming services and content providers. I have AT&T and love the free HBOMax service. There's also bundle savings with DirecTV which is getting on the streaming bandwagon.

Also a warning: I'm in technology so I'm suspect about all "smart" technologies. Research whatever you bring into your home. Chinese companies like Hisense make a lot of other brands (Toshiba, Insignia, Sharp) and they own the Amazon Fire TV service installed on those TVs. So when you use those Amazon smart speakers hooked up to those TVs and Alexa is always recording everything you say and view, be aware the Chinese gov't has access to that.

In truth, all smart speakers and phones are probably recording everything we say, so don't be shocked when your home insurance cancels on you the day after you complain about your kid overflowing the toilet trying to flush 3 rolls of toilet paper.

Not a ESPN salesperson by any means but I forgot that ESPN+ gives you access to ESPN content like 30 for 30’s on demand. I’ve watched a few already and they’re great content for when I walk on the treadmill and need a distraction.

And it's cheaper than FLO.

With better production values.

The FCS games are all school produced content, with the FCS Playoffs being the lone exception where ESPN produces it. Some FCS games I’ve thrown on can be as bad as some of the CAA streams on flo.

However, I’ve watched a handful of streaming sun belt games and they appear to be high production quality. It may just be at the FCS level where espn doesn’t bother to provide a crew. I’m interested if Curt Dudley will be able to remain on some of our games.

ESPN doesn't provide crews for the ESPN+ SBC games either, everything is school produced, or in most cases, student produced. The difference is ESPN Pays each school to handle getting campus set up for a high quality production, and also helps pay for the talent the schools do hire.

You get a lot of homer broadcasts, but the quality is mostly decent.

Then I think the big difference is funding levels that go towards the productions and simply a massive level in how much the administrations care about the product they’re broadcasting. We’re leaving the CAA in part because so many of these athletic administrations are content to be small time.

I use it for a lot of WBB mostly. I'm kind of a Montana State fan and just about all their games are on ESPN+. BTW, their pep band is almost (not quite) as loud and obnoxious as ours, and their fans are as great as JMU's, very enthusiastic. It's nice to see other venues as noisy, even if they aren't as big.

RE: ESPN+ subscription
Just some fun off-topic for a Friday. Now that the Dukes are FBS and under ESPN, if ESPNU was still doing college themed logos for the U, how would you design the Dukes logo?

I think I would put a crown on one side similar to Notre Dame and maybe follow the Georgia design with the Duke dog. I’m excited for the ESPN designs and logos that will come when we get more games on their network.

I recall years ago someone designed one and thought it was pretty cool.
While the Georgia one is good, I think it would need to be closer to our logo. An open mouthed bulldog with a crown and a cape (perhaps crown on one side and cape on the other?).
