We should all be so neglected.

Those are all good points, but maybe he wanted to get more targets and be more integrated into the offense? 1-2 catches a game isn't much.

Has anyone followed the $? Could he get a bigger NIL at Auburn that UAB? Probably so....remember...this is free agency now not really transfers

No doubt.

It is my understanding that with Coach Clark if you enter the portal you might as well say goodbye, because there's no coming back. That is likely what happened to Shrop, and then when he figured out his best option would be to come back, he didn't have that option.

Would that include a Moll if he wanted to or player by player? I'd take Moll back in heartbeat

Good question. Obviously we would all like to have him back, on the field. But I think with Coach Clark, you are either with us, or you're not. And when you declare you're not, well....for the sake of the team he doesn't look back. At least that's what I have been told.

Whether that continues in the world of the transfer portal is another story.

Although, student athletes are free to leave, UAB Football is about family. If players continually enter and exit the portal it would be counter productive to the family atmosphere and what CBC is building here.

With that being said, I would love to have Shropshire back, but understand that this could set a precedent where you see erosion of team chemistry and more Blazers test the water in the portal.

Ultimately, I think if more programs elected to not allow players back once they entered the portal you might see a chilling effect as (G5) players wouldn't enter unless they know where they are going. I wouldn't see this being an effective strategy at P5 schools where the pool of "Power 5" talent would be smaller.
No rule is 100% so if this is true I would hope Coach will reconsider. The word family means it's baked in "You can change your friends but you can't change your family". Kids make mistakes and the adults in the room should respond like adults not that tit for tat stuff. For whatever reason the last third of the season has been one major roller coaster ride with extreme highs and lows. I hope we can bottle that backup and get back to winning games......as one next season.

Love the idea behind this and it's similar to how Dabo handles commitments (if you go an an official after you commit, your offer is pulled), but how is this any different to when a coach dabbles with other opportunities and then stays at UAB? Apparently, it just happened with McCants, and I'd bet a lot Coach Clark has at least had his agent unofficially dangle the name out there.

If Shrop and Moll want to come back....come on back guys.

Exactly. If this is the case then Clark and his agent better never float his name out there for a higher paying job unless he knows he's going to get it. This attitude doesn't work into today's environment.

At 22 years old, almost all of my decisions were driven by an unholy mixture of alcohol and breasts. There are many good points raised in this thread, but I'm not sure that they matter.

He’s a strong pickup at a position of need. Offsets the loss of Shropshire somewhat. He may be coming from FCS but performed against good competition.

Brings back memories of Watkins! Big and caught passes when closely guarded, must have strong hands.
