The athletics Twitter account says this is our highest ranking since this system started.

This is the new system that the committee uses to seed the tournament and pick at larges, right? RPI is not used anymore?

Amazing what just a couple of upgrades in the schedule can do.
But my question is whether that's the highest mark we can get to this season ...

Only if you're P5 or Big East. Otherwise, you'd better be above 30.

Old Dominion and UTEP shouldn’t be so low.

I think you are correct. KenPom has ODU at 181 and UTEP at 162. The Massey Composite has them at 210 and 189 respectively.

Correct.

These rankings are essentially meaningless for us. The only C-USA team going to the dance is the winner of the conference tournament.

To be fair, I don't think we should be so high.

These rankings are hard to understand. How is Iona so far below us when they have a Q1 win over Alabama?

We have a Q1 win over SLU and a close Q1 loss to USF, putting us at 1-1. They are 1-2 in Quad 1 wins. That, I imagine, is how we are above them. As for them being 60 and us 35? Slightly puzzling. Interestingly, Alabama has only played one Q1 game so far.

Does WVU at Legacy count as a home game? Since home/neutral wins are counted different. I doubt they’ll be 30 when we play for a Q1 home win, but a top 50 WVU for neutral site Q1 could happen if they topple UConn before we play, I guess?
