Impossible to predict how these games will go.

Nick has all the money he could ever hope to have, and he has nothing left to prove. So, why not come back to his Alma Mater? (Just dreaming)

RE: Detroit
I'm disappointed in what happened today. Not because they lost but because they didn't play their normal brand of offense. The excitement wasn't there on the sideline and the defense looked like a video game being played on the easiest setting. They were dominated in every aspect of the game. I really hope that whoever is hired to take over the defense is up to the task.

On to the bowl game.

And who doesn’t feel good about turning the reins over to Schlee next season?

I'm sad to see Crum go. Excited to see Schlee, he looks like he could be special. Three years of eligibility left I believe? 2019 redshirt. 2020 didn't count. 2021 first year lost?

I'm also fearful that Lewis leaves and Schlee goes with him. He seems like a player that fits Lewis's style really well.

I'm not sure that Lewis is that hot a commodity, at least not yet.

Here’s hoping we have seen the last of the light blue (UCLA) jerseys.
This blue and gold loyalist is done giving to Kent unless they get the colors
Correct. Blue and Gold …. Please Randale.
Blue and Gold. At Miami game our new horrible PA announcer even said
Blue and Yellow. Give me a break. Bring Back Kurtz.
Gosh, I must be as old as you as I agreed with the baby blue color. Also gold, not yellow. And please, bring back Kurtz. We need a manly voice for us old timers with dull hearing.

The final score doesn't look as bad as this game was. I was hoping that Lewis would be around for the bowl game. After this display he will be around another year. The last two nationally televised game we've been on has shown our worst.
NIU had an answer to everything we threw at them. Its almost as if we used the entire playbook scoring 52 points on them last month, so they had us read all day. Defense was on par for what we've been this season. Offense didn't click. Hoping we get a good draw for a bowl game and Lewis doesn't snag too many players if he exits.
Also, can the MAC be done with noon games? As bad as JV football games at 10am.

Maybe I'm way off (I often am), but I don't see Lewis being a hot commodity yet.

One good thing about being a Kent State fan for almost 60 years is that I learned to handle losses. Very few losses in any KSU sport stuck with very long. I know Ohio State diehards who are still bemoaning their loss to Michigan a week later, almost like a death in the family. They went 10-2 and to hear my friends whine you would think they were 2-10 and needed a complete autopsy of the football program from top to bottom.

Agree, As KSU Football fans we have seen it all and expect it.
30 point leads evaporating, etc, … hope for the best but expect the worst.
Last 20 years or so , some Basketball defeats have stung and stayed with me awhile , especially to the marsupials down the road . Elite 8 loss to Indiana still gives me heartburn. What a conceded arrogant bunch of Hoosier fans that night.

After the Oregon loss they almost lost their minds. I heard people wanting to fire whichever coach they blamed for the loss including Ryan Day. They wanted to replace the QB who is now a Heisman candidate. I don't know how a people can become so extreme.

Older and older, me too. The Kent State loss I never got over was the loss to OU in the MAC tourney in 2000. I still don't like to look back on that one.
Ilovegymnast, I was at the grocery store this morning and this stranger and I were waiting in line engaging in small talk, and he volunteered that he was sick of his Buckeye friends still whining a week later!

As a fifty plus year fan I am in total agreement. It was a great opportunity and we didn't show, maybe the Miami game was too much. Scary part is that NUI is the second youngest team in DI. Looking ahead the MAC East is likely to be much stronger next year with a number of talented QBs likely returning. Let's hope coach finds some more talent for the defense.
