Tigers -4.5
Tigers open as favorites against Hawaii.

Now we need to wait and see who chooses not to play.

Reward for bailing on your team the last game of the year?

Once you are out of the playoff picture aren't they all just exhibition games?

We've had teams with losing records in the past that would beat this clown show by 50 and they got nothing.

To suggest a 6-6 team deserves anything is insulting to the sport.

Having said that I hope they have fun, it's not their fault we have idiot coaches.

They have a chance to make Tiger Football history and win a bowl game 2 years in a row.

I understand guys opting out of the bowl game if they don't want to risk injury - particularly if they are preparing for the draft. We have a lot of very talented young guys on the roster who could use the game experience.

That being said, every game matters because this is an opportunity to play college football, which is the greatest team sport that God ever invented.

I agree with all you say here. But the players opting out to work toward the draft should stay home and work toward the draft.

The stars aligned perfectly for Cincy. If that Okie state dude had stretched a half yard further Cincy would be preparing for a meaningless bowl themselves.

If I were an adult on the coaching staff, I'd be eery of taking a player to Hawaii if they weren't playing. It's hard enough to be responsible for someone else during their stupid-years (16-24). Even harder if I have nothing to hold over their head, as in they're done playing for me - playing time, suspension, etc are no longer options. But.....these are typical Bowl Game concerns.

You guys can't be serious. So you are saying if Calvin Austin and JJ Russell, two high character players who have given their heart and soul to this team for years, want to opt out of the bowl game to avoid risking injury while they prepare for the NFL draft, they shouldn't get to go to Hawaii with the team as a reward for pouring everything they've got into this football program for years?

I'm really glad you guys aren't coaches.

A high character person would fulfill their commitment/scholarship by playing a scheduled game----if not they should get their scholarship pulled and billed--jmo---didn't a school out west do that ?

You couldn't run a college football program and treat the players like that in this day and age. This isn't the 1960's anymore. You wouldn't be able to recruit, you couldn't retain players. Darrell Henderson opted out the bowl game AS A FRESHMAN - you wouldn't have let him come back.

This ranks high among the idiocy I've seen expressed on this message board - not an easy accomplishment.

I hope every player on this team enjoys himself in Hawaii.
