Zack Collaros
Today led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to victory and the west title. Will be playing for another Grey Cup.

It's Zach.

Collaros has had a great career up up in the Great White North. He's thrown for over 20,000 yards and 114 TDs. He's already got two Grey Cups in his trophy case, looking for #3.

Congratulations to Zack--he was a terrific Bearcat and has proven his worth up north. I know little to nothing about the CFL but will tune in Sunday evening.

Just curious, what kind of earning opportunity do those players have? Is it comparable to top-tier minor league sports in the USA? I'm guessing half or more of the rosters come from college football in the United States.

According to this article, Zach restructured his contract that will pay him ~$600K in salary and bonuses. I saw in a prior article that he was making over $500K base a couple years ago. That's not shabby for a guy making a league playing football outside the NFL. The average pay for players in the CFL is ~$80K.

He has only really ever been an average QB, and was actually a backup for the better part of the last few years due to injuries and personnel decisions. Think of a Ryan Tannehill type, has one really good season, and someone you hear about, but not someone you'd ever consider the best QB in the league in a given year. His big claim to fame up there is getting to the Grey Cup a few times as a back-up/injury replacement, winning one.

Zach 1 had to prove he belonged and 2 had to overcome serious concussion issues. He has done both and thrived. I intend to watch the Grey Cup this weekend.

RE: Zack Collaros
This year was the worst statistical year for passing in the last two decades for the CFL...in a normal year, he wouldn't be, but I already gave credit to him for the award in an above post. To the original post I was replying to, he shouldn't be a HOFer.
