$2.5M for support staff and analyst. Same as Napier.
How does Louisiana pay this and run a budget deficit long-term? Is there something I'm missing? ECU did this and eventually began losing, which resulted in rhe firing of Scottie Montgomery and Jeff Compher and the hiring of Mike Houston who finally righted the ship 4 years later.
It's just very, very odd and concerning.
We dont really have a deficit what we do is at the end of the year we balance the budget off the general fund. Its complicated and the accounts have reasons for doing it that way.
The state gives each university 3% of the schools budget each year to use on athletics we stash that in the general fund and use it as needed and where needed. Our President is very good with money and we have a really nice nest egg if **** went south. He raised 305 Mill the last 5 years so I think we are fine for athletics and academic stuff
Where did the cash come from? $305 million is a ton of money for a G5 program and in 5 years no less. Is this a continuing thing or did they just build a nest egg to invest and use the returns for funding?
Fundraising. He's talking university wide, not just athletics. We are midway through a campaign to raise $500 million by 2025. UL is fine financially, T-Joe knows what he's doing.

Quote:The campaign is more than halfway to its $500 million target. John Blohm, UL Lafayette vice president for University Advancement and CEO of the UL Lafayette Foundation, said alumni and friends have provided over $303 million in gifts and pledges during its initial phase, which began in 2016.
