We already play them in multiple sports each year, now those game will mean more. Also, only 90 miles away and a lot of USM alum in the Mobile area, it’ll be good when both teams are playing at a higher level.

If UAb were smart, they should really look at building a rivalry with JaxSt. Already played them this past season in Montgomery. That would be a game that should sell out in Jacksonville and give UAb a boost in attendance in BHM. Maybe Troy and JaxSt could play a game in Montgomery for a rivalry game.

To me that's another gut punch for USM. The state of Alabama was always one of USM's recruiting hotbeds when it was just Alabama and Auburn as FBS....then came the combo of UAB, USA and Troy which hurt USM recruiting. Now throw in yet another FBS school and recruiting gets a tad tougher for all.

South said the exact same thing about Troy when they opened their football program and yes Troy tanked but not for because of South. Once we hired Neal Brown and won 10, 11 and 10 games they got quiet about that…it will take the right coaching staff to right your program. Y’all will bounce back. I think being in the SBC will help spark your program as well.

You are also in a state with only 2 other FBS program and neither of the other two are anything special. You should be able to pull a lot of hidden talent at home.

Also recruiting against a Jackson St team that just won the SWAC, getting all kind of ESPN time and has “Coach Prime”. USM is in need of recreating their image, getting some of that ESPN love and rebuild.

Will the South and Troy rivalry be the same. What’s your thoughts on the rivalry situation with UAB moving to AAC and Jax state to CUSA? Will new rivalries form..

I really don't think so. Probably if they were in the right conference, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Really? Maybe we have the right coach. We actually need the right players. Oh, and BTW, Troy is the program that fired their coach and finally hired a new one. Question is, did Troy hire the"right coach". Only time will tell.

Look we all are going to get better. We got away from what the subject at hand and that is hating JAX ST! They should have just stayed where they were. It took a dying conference for them to be JSU and Tech should get along fine! Face facts, RR was probably the best they could do. He won't be there very long before he will be moved on or fired.

Maybe you do, I’m just saying you are NOT the reason we saw a decline under Larry Blakeney. Or Chip Lindsey
