I had the same thought, and it has me fired up as well. Words don't make a man though, and how he assembles his staff will make all the difference. Neal was able to assemble a dream team staff littered with P5 experience and experienced coordinators taking position coach roles. That was a huge deal, and let's hope Sumrall can assemble a likewise staff.

Neal Brown also brought in a damn good strength coach.

From what I can tell, Rusty Whitt is a good strength coach.

Defense will be lights out straight away. His OC hire will be his biggest hire on the staff. Rumor is he’s pushed for 500k for OC and DC salaries.

My prediction is Troy will be bowl eligible first year out the gate and year two will be competing at the top of the conference. Should be a quicker build then Neal Brown had and he got us to 10 wins year 2.

Jax St is talking trash about CJS. They believe they have one the lottery with RR.

If we wanted RR, he would be at Troy right now and not JSU. That’s just facts.

Good grief. With incentives added in, they're paying Rich Rod $500,000.

Troy will likely be paying Sumrall somewhere between 800K and 1M.

If Troy wanted Rich Rod, we could've gotten him. He was never on the radar of the fan base or AD... and for good reasons.

Let’s be realistic and give CJS some time. Troy fans already talking about 12-0 seasons on our board is ridiculous. Sumrall wasn’t my top choice but I am realistic enough to understand that he needs time to build something.

There’s no one on our board saying we will be 12-0 next year.

Oh please. Despite having not played in the last 20 years, those people have been talking trash the entire time. They’re obsessed with us. Most Troy fans barely give them even a passing thought anymore.

Jax State gonna be, well Jax State. Remind them that they're "moving up" a notch to coosa. That should give 'em something to think about. Plus, we'll see how RichRod will work for out them.
