Clawson would have been an even better fit for UVA than for the VT position. But that ship has sailed unless they back up the Brinks truck.

UVa should think outside the box and hire Jeff Monken from West Point. The job he has done at Army is incredible turning around that program. Currently the Black Knights run the triple options but similar to when we hired Mike Houston from the Citadel, if Monken can find a good OC then they can complete in the ACC Coastal.

He may just be ballsy enough to schedule JMU as UVA’s coach.

A lot of people talk about how Chadwell needs to show he can win without McCall before the good P5 offers start coming in. Seems like a pretty reasonable gamble for someone like UVA if Chadwell is willing to make that jump instead of taking the gamble on making a bigger jump in a few years.

Not sure Chadwell is really a great fit at UVA to be honest just from a cultural perspective.

Keep in mind he succeeded mightily at Charleston Southern which has never been to the playoffs before or since. It is basically a community college on the outskirts of North Charleston.

Every Culture likes winning. Whether it is with pinky extended on the seltzer glass or with mullets in Conway, SC.

Had five 10+ win seasons there.

Took UVA to the Orange bowl two seasons ago in 2019.

If he couldn't succeed, I'd bet there are factors there beyond his control and he wants a better opportunity elsewhere.

UVA feels a little bit like some other programs where good football coaches go to die. They are basketball first, seems a bit like Temple.

We haven't been basketball first in over a decade.

Ok? A few people having differing opinions and our ****** anti-CFB media wanting us t drop football don't mean a thing. We're going to clean house from almost our entire AD.

Sounds like Tony Elliot will be the next UVA coach.

I don't agree. Virginia, at least, has a great deal of potential. It's hard to beat the overall Virginia athletic program -- something like 28 national championships. (Zero in Blacksburg.) Virginia football may not be a national championship contender anytime soon but there's no reason they can't regularly compete for ACC titles and New Year's Day bowls.

UVA Football has 2 conference titles in the past 100 years. Keep dreaming.

Dabo loses another top tier coordinator. Gut check time for his program...they still have talent out the door, but let's see how he handles losing these guys. His whole schtick was "I pay my coordinators, that's why we keep winning".

I hear you. The broader athletic program actually has 29 (not 28) national championships, which is really pretty remarkable. I still say there's a lot of potential there.

03-confused Compared to who?
As far as VT, sure undesireable compared to 15-20 or so programs- 1/2 the SEC, PSU, Ohio St, Michigan, ND, MIA, Free Shoes, USC, Oregon, etc.

But VT is still more desireable than 2/3 to 3/4 of your P5 programs, and about 115 mas or menos of the soon to be 133? FBS programs
