The 4th foul call on Bates
Coaching staff should've laid into the refs on that one.

Gotta stand up for your players. GA pushed Bates something awful on that play plus got freethrow points to add insult to injury. Kind of took the wind out of the team's sails.

Welp, on to the next one.

Also, hopefully next time we push the ball up the court when down 5 with 17s on the clock instead of wasting 10s to get a shot up. Pgs typically always push the ball in those situations so not sure why so casual. Can't be scared of the moment.

Penny is the most laid back college coach I've ever seen

Penny needs a blood transfusion.. That was a really bad loss to a 2-5 Georgia team.

Agree that was a really bad call. I don’t blame the outcome on that one call, but when the refs review that later on film they will see they were wrong on that one.

Look we got a common foul on a clothesline that would have gotten you ejected in football. So enough of the whining about officiating.

And they got a common foul for a blatant two hand shove in the back to a player in mid air…

Ya I get he is cool, calm and collected but there is a time and place to get out of your normal personality and out of your comfort zone. That was the time and place.

Instead of a turnover it was two free throws for Georgia and Bates 4th foul which drastically changes how he plays.

Lol. I pointed out ONE bad foul call and you gather from that I'm blaming the refs. Lmao.

Here's y GA shot more freethrows.... THEY TOOK IT TO THE BASKET MORE and aggressively. Memphis passed it around the perimeter for perimeter shots. Simple.

Coach should know he needs a pg with size who can drive and create for himself or for others. Will open up the offense for others and put pressure on defenses to make plays at the basket. Get fouls. Etc

Well? You tend to pass it around the perimeter looking for open jump shots when you've been told in no uncertain terms that if YOU take it to the hole, the other team had carte blanch to hack away with no call, OR we will call you for a charge every time there is contact.

AAC refs.
We were treated better by SEC refs in our game vs MisStake than AAC refs on the road.

This is honestly one of the worst blown calls I can remember. After the call, Bates has to be restrained to avoid a tech. Whole thing seemed to really get in his head. I hope they all find a little fire before this next game.

That is a play where Penny should have tried to get a tech.

This call was HORRIBLE. One of my complaints with Penny is he doesnt show enough emotion. Dont constantly cry to the refs, but there are times you gotta get into them and let your players know that you have their back. You fight for them & they will fight for you.
(Now, I will say that Penny probably didnt have a good view of that, as the GA player was likely between him and the flying forearm.)
And then they called a foul on Duren for pushing on the other end when he did nothing.

I'm fairly certain that there are no "AAC" or "SEC" refs in basketball. There are "regions" and the same guys work multiple conferences, based on availability.

At least, that's how it used to be, when I was in that scene.

Thank you.

Year in year out the same people complain about "conference" refs when there are none.

See...I'm not completely worthless and able to contribute something other than Penny criticisms! 03-lmfao

I agree, and several games in the previous years.

There did used to be though. I knew the SEC director of refs, and a lot of guys that officiated for him. Just old timers, haven't kept up that it changed.
