Bowl Projections
I know someone is going to rant about "focus on Saturday." Well, we're fans. We have the luxury of thinking about the future. What are your hopes & dreams? Anyway, this is clear as tar:
The MAC doesn’t have a true pecking order. The bowls matchups are based on best possible games and geography.
– Bahamas Bowl vs. Conference USA
– Camellia Bowl vs. American Athletic or Sun Belt
– Famous Idaho Potato Bowl vs. Mountain West
– LendingTree Bowl vs. Sun Belt
– Offerpad Arizona Bowl vs. Mountain West
– Quick Lane Bowl vs. Big Ten
To be determined among the Group of Five conferences. MAC will get spots in two of these bowls …
– Cure Bowl vs. Group of Five or Army
– Myrtle Beach Bowl vs. American Athletic or Sun Belt
– New Mexico Bowl vs. Conference USA
– RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl vs. Group of Five or Army
– Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl vs. Group of Five or Army

I'd guess we would get the top category since they are specific for the MAC. As far as bowls to travel to, staying east of the Mississippi would be great. Quick Lane would be best for our fans, but I don't like that they'd get paired with a Big 10 team. I could see us playing Purdue or MSU in Detroit. (It would be like playing Indiana in basketball in the neutral site of Lexington, KY.)
The bottom 5 sound like a funner list for travel purposes. However, I feel that could go to the bubble teams among other conferences.
Anyone have a clue on if there are specific bowls the division champions would go to?

Mobile was a FUN WEEKEND. I'm hoping for that, but glad to be a Golden Flash either way.

My understanding of payouts is all money from bowls goes in a pot and is then divided among all MAC schools. Given these are essentially “Made for TV “ events owned by ESPN , at the end of the day after expenses , taking band, cheerleaders, etc. schools come up short. Know for a fact Frisco bowl cost Kent a ton of $$$!
Let’s not confuse these with 6 major bowls when it comes to money. No windfall for MAC schools.

RE: Bowl Projections
It appears the bowl payouts are pushed to MAC and then redistributed to teams from the sources above. If so- I want the highest quality opponent and highest exposure game so we can continue to build the program/recruiting opportunity.
Selfishly- being in Ohio- Quick Lane bowl gets Kent a game against a P5 middle of the pack team and a chance for KSU fans/alums (ie-my son and I) to attend without large $$ and time commitment?
FWIW- CFN has Mizz vs KSU as their matchup.

** update- sorry I looked at CFN yesterday- today it has Kent at Arizona Bowl (Barstool) vs Boise St- good opponent no network broadcast.

Rooting for this team for years, hard to believe we are bowling basically two seasons in a row (throwing short season out). Happy to see the team in the MACC.

Also note NCAA added a bowl so all eligible teams are bowling. In Texas and looks like projections have MAC in game.

Should’ve gone last season but it was a chance to make sure the bottom of the barrel 3 and 4 win SEC programs got exposure…

There was an odd number of bowl eligible teams, Hawaii was added at 6-7. and then a bowl game was added to make it work .
