Making it a game though at half. 2 missed ft on the front end of 1 and 1 down the stretch hurt.

Good effort. It would be nice to see that sort of defensive energy throughout conference play.

If Hamilton can get double digit boards against WVU he can against mid majors. Need to see this effort from him on the glass every game.

Getting homered as you expect in Morgantown. Getting beat as well, no doubt, but it's hard to get calls in Morgantown.

I despise Huggins for reasons I won't get into, but he is a "defense first" coach and it is tough to shoot a good percentage against his teams. What happened to Beck? I was looking forward to good things from him this year.

General overview: It looks like the backcourt is very solid with the top 3 (Carry, Santiago, Jacobs) but sure would like to see more offense out of Hernandez. Sullinger might emerge there as the season goes on???

Baseline is still an issue although Hamilton does show signs of taking some ownership. But Beck-Johnson-Davis individually or collectively (4 rebounds in 39 minutes????) aren't worth the time they are getting ... and with Garcia out Kent is definitely exposed in that area.

Starting Hornbeak does make some sense. Hopefully he drops his balls sooner than later and becomes a solid 12-15 minute player. Understandable Odusipe hasn't seen much action since he returned, but hopefully he takes somebody's minutes (Beck-Davis) over the next few weeks. Word is he can't score much but can rebound and defend. Personally, I always say anybody who can rebound will score at least a little bit by accident.

Kent definitely not a MAC contender at this point, but certainly an "any given night" team when all is going well with a couple of players (Sullinger, Hornbeak) hopefully getting better and more productive as the season goes on.

If Garcia re-emerges, all the better.

Last year Beck was behind only Pippen and Nuga at 11.7 ppg and also averaged 4.8 rebounds per game. This year he is 5.6 ppg and 2 rpg. Quite a drop-off.

This is a good rebuild game for our young guys. This year we will struggle against size.
