You are so right. Seems we do the same thing in all the major sports.
We have shown poorly against some of the other conferences during the regular season and in bowl match-ups at times but the SEC is pretty much QUALITY through and through.
Hardly any SEC match-ups are going to be dull. We have supurb athletes, great facilities and knowledgable fans throughout the conference - last but not least, we have the most beautiful women in the world in the SOUTH.

No. 24 Arkansas Takes Rubber Match With Ole Miss, 6-3
Rebels drop to 29-21 overall and 13-11 in SEC play.
May 4, 2003
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Freshman right-hander Charley Boyce struck out a season-high seven in 7 1/3 innings to lead No. 24 Arkansas to a 6-3 win over Ole Miss in the rubber-match of this weekend's three-game Southeastern Conference series Sunday afternoon, in front of 2,093 at Baum Stadium at George Cole Field. The Rebels won Friday's series opener 5-2 before the Razorbacks evened the series with a come-from-behind 7-6 win on Saturday, in which they scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth.
The series win was the eighth straight for the Razorbacks (33-13, 13-11 SEC) over the Rebels (29-21, 13-11 SEC) and Arkansas has now won 10 of the 12 series played with Ole Miss since joining the SEC in 1992.
Boyce (5-3) limited the Rebels to three runs on five hits and walked two in earning the win.
Scott Roehl worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for Boyce to notch his first save of the year.
Freshman right-hander Mark Holliman (3-5) suffered the loss. He allowed four runs, two earned, on just four hits, but was plagued by six walks, four hit batters and three Rebel errors.
Haas Pratt broke open a 3-2 game with a two-run double in the sixth that got past a diving Justin Donovan in right field, scoring both Scott Bridges and Nick Pitts to make it 5-2.
Both teams recorded six hits each on the afternoon.
Seth Smith went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Ole Miss. Smith hit his fourth home run of the year with a one-out solo shot in the sixth to pull Ole Miss to within a run at 3-2. He later added an RBI single in the eighth to make it 5-3.
Chad Sterbens went 0-for-4 to snap his season-best 17-game hitting streak.
Clay Goodwin went 2-for-3 with two runs scored lead the Razorbacks.
Ole Miss will next wrap-up its 2003 home schedule with a three-game SEC series against Florida, beginning Friday night at 6:30 p.m., at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Friday's game will be televised by the Sunshine Network.

Ouch! :bang: Sure was hoping we'd win the series....after that TOUGH 9th inning walkoff loss yesterday. We had that game in the bag. The relief pitcher was trying to paint the corners, be fancy, etc, instead of just challenging the hitters. :bang:

Well, unless they throw work at me, I'll be there in time for the Bullpen Club meeting before the Saturday game. Coach brings a player or two and speaks to us an hour before gametime on Saturdays.

Well, you are still more than welcome to come to the tent and hear coach speak. No need to be a member for that. We'll take all the members we can get, and when you're ready to join, let me know and I'll get you a form.
Necessary info for anyone else interested in the Ole Miss Rebel Bullpen Club: (I can't believe I never thought to post this)
Regular members one-year membership: $20
Diamond Division one-year membership: $150
Corporate is either $500 or $600 annually, but I can't remember.
Hope some of you guys will consider joining up for 2004!
Hotty Dayum Toddy!

Now, that is a membership fee that I might be able to afford. Key word being "might".
Nah, I will definitely sign up for 04, just remind me because they don't advertise this too well.

That's the plan I'm on...it's affordable for us radio guys.
I'll do a post about it once the season wraps up. They'll begin accepting memberships for 2004 (if they haven't already) at the end of the season and you'll be able to access the Bullpen Club website and keep up with everything in Ole Miss Baseball...recruiting...etc.
Ernie LaBarge has done a hell of a job with the Bullpen Club as president, and my close personal friend Colonel Jones (you met him 10) is on the board of directors and he works his arse off as well.
We've got the biggest booster club type organization for college baseball in the nation, so I definitely invite all my friends on here to join.

Good to hear from you, JBR. Can't make the Friday night and Mother's Day is probably out, huh 10Man.
Heard you and Miss Hemingway were moving to Carbondale. Is this true?
