Brett McMurphy of Action Network projected this afternoon that Central Michigan will play Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on Dec. 20.

His other projections include WMU playing ODU in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field and EMU playing in Boise at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Fresno State.

It would be a good opponent.

But not really excited about potentially playing them in their own back yard. That opponent in that bowl would be like a home game for them and their fans. Would rather CMU went to a different bowl destination.

Better than Boise (hell on the beach in Bay City, MI would be better than Boise).

MAC needs to scrap this bowl, it is not rewarding playing in that stadium in horrible weather and such a poor payout

Couldn't agree more. It's pure punishment.

CMU has been to the Potato bowl fairly recently. I doubt the MAC sends them there again.

But, stranger things have happened when the bowl pairings all shake out.

This is what happens when Idahoians put potatoes in the back of their swim trunks instead of the front.

Updated projection today from Brett McMurphy has CMU playing Georgia State in the Camellia Bowl on Dec 25 in Montgomery, Ala., and WMU playing Liberty in the Quick Lane at Ford Field.

Also, good news for Miami. ESPN has added a 42nd bowl game in Texas so now all bowl eligible teams will be playing in a bowl.

Selfishly, I’m hoping for the Quick Lane bowl or, alternately, the Arizona bowl. Both would be bowls I could actually attend.

I think you could be right about Boise. But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it was someplace else.

I am going to go out on a limb and say CMU is due to play in 2022 in the Bahamas Bowl.

I guess we'll find out Sunday about 2021. Is there a selection show? What time is it on? If so, I hope they show the Chips in the new Champions Center watching.
