RE: New Interstate Highways Thread; I-14, I-11, etc...
My son now lives and works in Tokyo. He has changed jobs since going over, but his first employer was the Japanese division of a US company headquartered in Charlotte. He had an initial training session with them in the fall of 2016. My G/F and I went to the Auburn-Texas A&M game in September. We flew to Atlanta, he drove down, picked us up at the airport, and then drove us to Auburn. When we landed, I gave his cell a quick call, just to let him know we were in. He said, "Daddy, there's something wrong with my Google map. It says I'm 10 miles from the airport, but it will take an hour and a half to get there." I replied, "Nothing wrong, that's Atlanta at 5 pm on Friday. We'll be fine."
He picked us up and along about La Grange, he suddenly realizes that it's already 7 pm and he is supposed to meet his cousins in Auburn for dinner at 7:30. "Daddy, there's no way I can drop you at my uncle's place at Lake Martin and still meet them for dinner. It's already 7 o'clock." I replied, "It's 7 o'clock where we are, but it's only 6 o'clock where they are. You may run a few minutes late, but you should be okay. Just give them a call when you drop us at the lake and let them know when you'll be there."
His one lasting memory of the weekend: There's no way he would ever live in Atlanta.

Nothing is going to save Atlanta from horrific traffic.
Also, I've never seen more people going 120mph in my life.
Rush "hour" lasts 4 to 5 hours a day now, am and pm. But yeah, when they can, drivers is crazy.
Its random. You can get in awful jams in the middle of the day or at 8 pm at night. They've got terrible arterials and run all the N/S traffic through one freeway.
After moving to Atlanta I vowed never to complain about Houston traffic again.

There's already an I-74. It runs from Cincinnati-Indianapolis-Urbana/Champaign-Bloomington/Normal-Peoria-Quad Cities.

Yeah, I know. This is supposed to link into that one eventually.
