Fauci Brings up January 6th and Ted Cruz in Incredibly Bizarre Interview Exchange
Quote:The highest-paid man in the US government, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was on TV again this weekend, doing a sit-down interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan. RedState has already reported on some of the absurdities previously released, but they truly saved the good stuff for Sunday.

In what can only be described as an incredibly bizarre exchange, Fauci brings up January 6th and declares that attacks on him are attacks on science itself. This man’s ego knows no bounds.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator Cruz told the attorney general you should be prosecuted.

DR. FAUCI: Yeah. I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6, senator?

MARGARET BRENNAN: Do you think that this is about making you a scapegoat to deflect–

DR. FAUCI: Of course-

MARGARET BRENNAN: –From President Trump?

DR. FAUCI: Of course, you have to be asleep not to figure that one out.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, there are a lot of Republican senators taking aim at this. I mean–

DR. FAUCI: That’s OK, I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to be saving lives and they’re going to be lying.

The mention of prosecution has to do with the fact that Fauci pretty clearly lied to Congress when he insisted that the NIH had not funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Documents were later released that showed that they had done so, though the government rushed to change definitions online to try to cover themselves. In short, Rand Paul was right, and last I checked, lying to Congress is a crime. That’s why Ted Cruz suggested that Fauci should be prosecuted.

Yet, instead of offering some kind of salient defense of his past falsehoods, Fauci says to ask Ted Cruz about January 6th. What does Cruz have to do with January 6th? The answer is absolutely nothing. Cruz did not have any contact with anyone who entered the Capitol Building that day, nor did he do anything but condemn their actions.

And is the good doctor just unaware that lots of people are, in fact, being harshly prosecuted over January 6th? Ironically, by bringing that up to snark at Cruz, Fauci is making an affirmative case for his own prosecution. It also shows that he is every bit the far-left conspiracy theorist some have suspected.

That kind of idiotic response from Fauci completely gives away who he is (not that it’s been previously a secret). This guy is a politician, through and through. There’s a reason he started attacking Donald Trump in the months leading up to the 2020 election. He knew that he had to keep his seat at the table, and he was more than happy to suck up to Democrats to make sure that happened.

But, it’s more than that. Fauci himself is a rabid liberal and always has been. The assertions of the last several years, where he’s been painted as some kind of unbiased public servant, were always nonsense.

But perhaps the most absurd thing Fauci says here is that attacking him amounts to attacking science. This is a man who has lied multiple times throughout the pandemic. Even past that, he’s been wrong more times than I can keep track of. Yet, he wants to assert that any questioning of him is an attack on the institution of science itself? That’s a tyrannical notion that assumes he is simply above reproach and should never be held accountable. Any government official with that attitude deserves to be fired immediately, not lauded as an “expert.”

Yet, the legend of Fauci lives on, at least within the press and Democrat circles. This guy is a menace to society and a draining leech on the taxpayers who keep paying his salary. That he made it out of the Trump era without being fired will always be one of the former president’s biggest mistakes.

Liar's all accuse the person with the truth as a liar.

Rand Paul Takes Fauci to the Cleaners and Hangs Him out to Dry

Quote:Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) just skewered Fauci for his “hubris.”

“The absolute hubris of someone claiming THEY represent science,” Paul wrote, as he scoffed at Fauci. “It’s astounding and alarming that a public health bureaucrat would even think to claim such a thing, especially one who has worked so hard to ignore the science of natural immunity.”

Can we talk about the enormous ego of Fauci? What self-importance to claim he is “science” and that daring to question him — or call him out when he lies — is somehow damaging science. That very response shows how unscientific he is. The very nature of science is questioning. Shutting down that questioning and demanding adherence to the government dictate, as Fauci has done, isn’t “science” — that’s authoritarian.

But Paul and Cruz aren’t ‘questioning science’ when they say Fauci should be prosecuted: they’re referencing him lying to Congress over gain-of-function research. Of course, Fauci doesn’t explain that to host Margaret Brennan or the viewers. He wants viewers to think that the senators are just making claims against him because they disagree with him, and he’s the ‘scientist,’ so what he has to say is inviolate.

Talk about deflection. This is what Fauci wants to deflect from.

How slimy is Fauci to try to suggest that Cruz had anything to do with Jan. 6? There’s no evidence of that at all. But there is evidence of Fauci lying to Congress. The fact that he tries to shoot back with a political attack against Cruz shows Fauci is not even pretending to not be a partisan hack anymore.

Cruz Drops the Question That Just Skewers Fauci

Quote:Then, Cruz responded and completely took Fauci apart. In lawyer-like fashion, Cruz eviscerated Fauci in a simple clear way in five tweets.

Fauci is an unelected technocrat who has distorted science and facts in order to exercise authoritarian control over millions of Americans.

He lives in a liberal world where his smug “I REPRESENT science” attitude is praised.

Here are the facts:

(1) On May 11, Fauci testified before a Senate Committee that “the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

(2) On October 20, NIH wrote they funded an experiment at the Wuhan lab testing if “spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.” That is gain of function research.

(3) Fauci’s statement and the NIH’s October 20 letter cannot both be true. The statements are directly contradictory.

(4) 18 USC 1001 makes it felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, to lie to Congress.

No amount of ad hominem insults parroting Democrat talking points will get Fauci out of this contradiction.

Fauci either needs to address the substance—in detail, with specific factual corroboration—or DOJ should consider prosecuting him for making false statements to Congress.

No deflection, no “I represent science.” No hiding behind liberal talking points while pretending to be objective. Answer the question.

The bottom line is that for too long, the fate of the country has been put in the hands of unelected bureaucrats like Fauci, who aren’t concerned about the harm they have been doing. Nor have they been required to justify their actions or been held accountable, including for the many, many times they have been wrong. They want to continue to play this control game and won’t rule out new lockdowns, even over a new variant that they know very little about.

Fauci is not answering that question that Cruz raised, indeed, he isn’t even acknowledging that Cruz raised it, he’s trying to obscure it with a partisan attack and deflection about how he’s “science.” That tells us everything we need to know right there.

Anthony Fauci Is Extremely Invested in People Not Finding out COVID-19's Origin

Quote:The original theory concerning the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic was that it came from a wet market in Wuhan, China. However, most experts believe that this theory no longer holds, and most of the evidence points to a lab leak of some sort from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Originally, the roles were reversed. Many saw the lab leak theory as a conspiracy theory from conservatives while people who were actually following the evidence that was publicly available noted that it wasn’t so far-fetched. Multiple reports by various media outlets intending to cover this up by saying “We were just following the information we had at the time!” ignore the outright hostility they maintained toward anyone who suggested the lab leak theory was more plausible.

But one of the interesting (and horrifying) tidbits that came out about this particular lab is the involvement of the United States government — and, more directly, Dr. Anthony Fauci’s involvement. RedState’s own Scott Hounsell has worked brilliantly on breaking a lot of this information down (you can find all of his reporting here). Fauci has now been caught lying to Rand Paul and the rest of the country over the gain-of-function research that the U.S. helped pay for and that Fauci appears to have directly overseen.

Before I continue, I need to clarify something: Saying the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan is not the same as saying the virus was created by the Chinese government. A lot of the evidence seems to suggest that the virus did occur naturally in bats and that this facility in Wuhan was studying it. The introduction of gain-of-function research, however, suggests that some tampering was done to test the possibilities of the virus’ effect on humans, should it jump species in some way. The National Institute of Health confirmed via a document release that, despite what Fauci claimed, the U.S. did have a hand in funding this research.

That makes this weekend’s appearance on Face the Nation by Fauci much more notable, because it’s very clear that he does not want Americans to find out the role that the NIH — and, by extension, he — played in the pandemic. From his interview with Margaret Brennan, after he talked about the wet market originally:

Brennan told him that “Beijing acknowledges now that they don’t think it originated in that market,” but Fauci disagreed.

“It may not have originated in the market, but it certainly could have. I mean, I don’t think that they admitted that it didn’t originate in the market. I think they’re saying they don’t know how it originated.”

Gao Fu, director of China’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in May 2020 that he did not believe the Wuhan wet market is where COVID-19 began.

Brennan argued that “the place of origin was not within the market itself.”

Fauci disagreed: “I don’t think you can say that. I think you could say we don’t know how and where it originated. There are wet markets in Wuhan that are ample opportunity for a virus to jump from an animal that gets brought in from all parts of China that are very closely related physically to bat enclaves and caves and come to the market.”

Fauci is far more politician than health expert at this point. The twisting of words and phrases to dodge criticism is extremely suspicious at best. Here, he is trying to keep the interview’s focus on the wet market theory, trying to exhaust that conversation in order to avoid any tougher questions about the origins of the virus.

There are very few credible people, at this point, who believe the wet market is the more likely origin of the virus. That Fauci is pushing that theory at all is telling. He is either not a credible person or he is attempting to deflect and hide. Or, as my former colleague Moe Lane might say, “Embrace the healing power of ‘and’.”

What’s really happening is this: Fauci has become rather addicted to the media spotlight in the last couple of years. The media has treated him like a king and he has used that to pontificate rather than stick to the actual science. But the problem is that his musings on what’s best for us are being taken as actual science by a media establishment that is so traumatized from a combination of Donald Trump and the pandemic that they can’t see the problems with the things Fauci has been saying.

Be prepared for another lockdown? That’s absolute insanity. The previous lockdown was a major contributor to the current economic crisis. There is no way the U.S. economy could handle that, especially when the evidence on the new variant in South Africa suggests the cases are very mild.

It is well past time for Fauci to go. He is doing more to damage the public’s confidence in the fight against the virus and the strength of the vaccines than the virus itself. If you want America to truly return to a sense of normalcy, even as the virus transitions from “pandemic” to “endemic,” Fauci needs to be given a rather forceful suggestion to retire.

And maybe mass murder. 3 or 4 million dead due to the Chinese gain of function research.

Fauci is the ultimate pseudo intellectual. He spews lots of information spins it as fact and says those who oppose him oppose science because he is science. NO, he's a man who has had more than his 15 minutes of fame.

I wonder if there is a scientific term to describe dying alone in solitary confinement at the end of a decades long sentence.

He has that little weasel face that would be much improved by a punch to it. Some people just need hell beat out of them.
