Anybody else ready for new blood?
Alabama has made the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years.
Ohio St 4 of the last 7.
Clemson 6 years in a row.
Oklahoma 4 of the last 6.
Notre Dame 2 of the last 3.

Combined, these five schools have been awarded 22 of 28 playoff bids since the 2014 season. The other six went to Oregon, Washington, Georgia, LSU, Michigan St and Florida St.

Clemson and OU are out. I don't know about you, but I'm pulling for Alabama, ND and Ohio St to get snubbed too. I'm ready for:

Georgia to make its second appearance.
Michigan to make its first.
Cincinnati to make its first.
Oklahoma St to make its first.

Let's get some new blood and make it interesting. It can happen. All four just need to win their title games. It would be nice if Georgia won by double digits to drive a nail in Bama's coffin.

Absolutely! Playoff will be much more interesting this year if we can get 3 first-time participants.

Agreed on all points! I wouldn't mind a Cincinnati/Michigan matchup for the Chip

I think Alabama is going to beat Georgia.

If OK State beats Baylor, Cincy probably gets left out, unless Michigan loses to Iowa.

Then we could have Alabama, Georgia, OK State, and Cincy.

I’m hoping that Cincinnati and Oklahoma St get in.

I have a feeling that a cocky Georgia team is going to give Alabama less than their best effort in order to try and land both of them a playoff spot. (I seriously think there should be a 1 team/conference limit if we’re only doing 4 in the playoff to discourage CCG flops)

You didn't watch the Iron Bowl did you? Alabama could barely handle Auburn's defense. Georgia will stuff them like last week's Thanksgiving turkey.

I have a feeling even if Cincy finishes undefeated, the committee will find a reason to keep them out. Hope I'm wrong.

Either way, will be nice to see Michigan and potentially Oklahoma State in the top 4.... Hopefully the Wolverines beat Iowa.

You shouldn't let the SEC live rent free in your head. There is literally more incentive financially for the Tide to take a top NY6 and for Georgia to win out. We divide 3 million 15 ways if Alabama makes the CFP too. We'd earn a lot more per school if Alabama and Ole Miss play NY6 games than we would with Alabama as the #2 SEC school in the CFP. The SEC's CFP share is the same whether we have 0 or 2 schools in it. When a conference gets a second school in it's costly bragging rights and that's it. 3 million for #2 is way below NY6 payouts.

Georgia wants badly to beat Alabama because they don't want to have to play them twice.

A Houston Cougars fan "ready for" Cincinnati to make the Football Final Four?

That's not something you see every day with UH playing the Bearcats for the AAC title this week.

Georgia hasn't been seriously tested in some time - the last game they had that was closer than 24 points was against Kentucky back in mid-October. That said, I don't think Alabama can "struggle win" against them like they did against Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, and Florida.

IMO, you can't judge Alabama on how the Auburn game went. Auburn is a blue-chip program with loads of talent. When that talent is motivated and focused and playing in front of their fans, they can give anyone a problem.

I expect Georgia to have their hands full vs Alabama, and that's no knock on Georgia. I mean, we're talking about an 11-1 Saban Alabama team here.

Alabama and Georgia. The best beats new blood--if new is what you really want, call up UTSA.
