That's because Bama fans don't care about basketball during football season.....just sayin'.
Some fans will care about both
I don't really care but the majority of Bama fans don't care about basketball while football season is still going. Bama basketball was ranked #1 when Mike Shula was coaching but they sucked so bad the local media barely talked about their #1 ranking.
But the main point of my comment is no one this board outside of you and BNBF cares what Bama fans care about.
I feel very good that Bama represented our state so well against two sport power programs in basketball and football. I watched both games as much as possible and think both were good for the whole state on a national stage. The IAB Blazers are just beginning to grow into that kind of program, and if it continues to grow its funding and facility growth, it will have similar success. Both programs have survived a "wilderness period" and come back stronger for it. In the 1950s Bama lost 20 consecutive games over 3 seasons, and UAB survived the two year suspension until its Return.
Like Matin L.King, I have seen the "Promised Land" even though since I am 80 now, I may not get there with you.
I don't know what is the IAB Blazers or who da'ph*ck is Matin L. King but I am glad you have seen the Promised Land. How about you take your Bama rhetoric to the Promise Land with you.

If you are looking to improve your program this is the exact game you want to be playing in. Also this is good for our coaching staff. It may seem that Coach Clark has been around forever but he (like the players ) needs these big games that will challenge us and the coaching staff. Just like the players , the coaches can also improve over time. I’m looking forward to this game.
You are correct in your synopsis but given Clark's track record against quality opponents it just looks like Murder on the Shreveport Express is gonna take place on the 18th. It will be a tough decision for some but most will opt for a possible better experience at Legacy at 4 pm and wish the football team the best of luck.

A Saturday game at 2:30 on ABC against a ranked, national brand team is great exposure for our program. I just hope we make it interesting or the exposure may not necessarily help our cause.
I just hate that it conflicts with our biggest home basketball game in years (and one that AK had to call in a big favor to get). People will have to choose one or the other so neither game will have as many people at it as it should. It'll be the basketball game for me since it's in town and I already have tickets.

From a TV perspective though it's pretty cool to have a prominent football game and a big basketball game against name opponents on national TV at the same time. Again, good exposure for us.
